I've been on the boards a lot this weekend. I've been listening to love songs, lamenting over....life. I've been listening to the same songs over and over. I need some new ones to cry to.

Suggestions? (For songs, not my lamenting.)

Kind of looking for off-the-beaten-track ones, if you know of them. The ones that don't show up in a Google search for pathetic romantic songs.

"My Sweet Lady" by John Denver was the first thing that popped into my head, not sure why, but it brought back memories....

Actually, I think this might be more of what you're looking for.....it's one of my favorite songs, hope you like it, too.

You wanted off the beaten path, and this one definitely is.

Portuguese love by tuna marie, love by musiq soulchild and my favorite

Teddy pendergrass, my latest greatest inspiration.

I've been so many places, I've seen so many things But none quite so lovely as you More beautiful than the Mona Lisa Worth more than gold And my eyes have the pleasure to behold

You're my latest and my greatest My latest, my greatest inspiration

Things never looked clearer, peace within never felt nearer My burden's gone, it's turned to a song Tender as a baby's touch, I needed you, oh, so much At last the load is so light

You're the latest and my greatest My latest, my greatest inspiration

I plan to give you all that I have I'll be everything, everything you think I am You make life a joy to live And I'm thankful, yes, I'm blessed just to know you

I've been so many places, I've seen so many things But none quite so delectable as you More beautiful than the Mona Lisa Worth more than gold And my eyes have the pleasure just to behold

You're my latest, tell you you're my greatest My latest, my greatest inspiration You inspire me, inspire me Don't you know, my latest, my greatest inspiration

My current favorite is I want to hold your hand by T. V. Carpio.

I used it to make a sappy YouTube clip about Hanners, the link is in mi sig. but I warn you, I made it shortly after reading her post about me on the Good Men thread, so it is really sappy. Here's a link to the real video from the movie if you want to skip mine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBxAdoTOnuM

i dunno if it's a love song, i guess it's a post-love song, but "Worlds Spins Madly On" by the Weepies is an instant tear jerker for me
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJ4ISfI6A-0
it's a quirky little melodramatic song, but it's very sweet. =p

I don't know whether you are looking for love songs or regret, love gone bad songs but this is one of my alltime favorites. Reportedly Robert Plant wrote it for his wife Maureen.
