(This is not my personal work, found it on the 'net)

I GOT YOUR BACK
I am a small and precious child, my dad’s been sent to fight. The only place I’ll see his face, is in my dreams at night. He will be gone too many days for my young mind to keep track.I may be sad, but I am proud. My daddy’s got your back. I am a caring mother; my son has gone to war.My mind is filled with worries that I have never known before.Everyday I try to keep my thoughts from turning black.I may be scared, but I am proud. My son has got your back.                             I am a strong and loving wife, with a husband soon to go.There are times I’m terrified, in a way will never know.I bite my lip, and force a smile, as I watch my husband pack…My heart may break, but I am proud. My husband’s got your back.  I am a Marine, serving proudly, standing tall.I fight for freedom, yours and mine, by answering this call.I do my job while knowing, the thanks sometimes lacks.Say a prayer that I’ll come home. It’s me who’s got your back.

Thanks for that poem, it was very worth reading

I remember the first local protest I went to here where I live. I had my digital camera with me, and I was going to post my pics on Inde media when I got done. There was a mother there with her granddaughter, and the little girl was holding a sign that said "Bring my daddy home" with a computer printout of his pic on the sign. I took the pic and asked the grandmother if I could post it on the internet, and she said "Please do". I kept that little girl's pic on my political profile for about a year and I posted it on Inde.

I related this because up until that point I felt this little twinge of guilt that perhaps our soldiers wouldnt understand why we were protesting, perhaps they would think we did not support them... and that was as far away from the truth as it could possibly be. Once I took that pic I also put that little girl in my heart and I never felt bad for my political stance since.

I just wish we could bring them home like yesterday.... So many of them have been gone for so long.
