That is so sweet!!! When my daughter was growing up, we were pretty poor & my favorite presents from her were the ones that cost very little or nothing at all even. Those are the ones that you will remember your whole life.

I don't think I've ever bought myself something specifically as a birthday gift, though I have at Christmas when I was single. I grew up poor so I developed a habit of not paying much attention to my birthday so I wouldn't get disappointed.

These days I get pretty much everything I want or need when I want or need it... so if I wanted to buy myself something, I wouldn't know what to get. I can't even think of anything to suggest Firm get me for my birthday, and we go out to nice restaurants all the time.

So... tonight he's making me pizza for dinner... cause it's my birthday.

I do buy myself a little something... I'm a broke college student so it is usually just a little something like a book or magizine. I have also gone to a movie for my b-day or bought myself a nice dinner (well, at least what a broke person would consider a nice dinner) :) I think it's important to celebrate yourself and your life on your birthday. And to remember what you have to be thanful for.
