That's quite odd, connecting via iPhone with a MacBook, while being at the station it was quite slow, I'm on the train now and it's fast as hell?

Doppler effect silly.  It will slow down when you return.

Seriously, there are a coupla of possibilities.

1.  The station had more people sucking up bandwidth and now that you are in the open country, you are one of just a few users.

2.  The train might have an internal wireless modem to feed the passengers' laptops and it's faster.

It only makes sense since the train is moving at a high rate of speed. You have to multiple MPH + wind speed + internet connection.

agreeing with Hill; it's probably to do with reduced demand on bandwidth.

The prob is that unless the wind reverses and the barometer starts falling, it will slow down on the way back by a reciprocal percentage of the hypotenuse.

The train's movement creates a rift in the time warp continuum and allows you to jump through the worm hole.

but is it possible to reduce the hypotenuse in order to gain additional momentum along the space-time continuum?

Certainly.  Just multiply it by the square root of -1.

::gets out a pencil:: Okay, the square root of -1 is 1i. Multiply.. ::scribble, scribble:: .. carry over.. ::scribble, scribble:: iPhone.. ::scribble, scribble:: ::looks at answer::

Yes, it is possible.

You really have to love vectors, now, dontcha.

As a math teacher, I love any conversation that invokes complex numbers and the concept of i.

I'm not sure how vectors or scalars play into the time aspects of the theory of relativity or complex numbers, but it sounds cool.

I'm lost. Aren't 'invokes' what you make omelettes out of?

I was thinking more of space than time but in any event, I don't have a desktop for the next part of the assignment so I am well and truly fucked.

Thanks, both possibly true...

Possible, yes, as Hill explained, but's illegal in the UK.

I suspect none of the above.  It likely has more to do with your cellular carrier, their tower locations, and radio wave propagation.

It slowed a couple of times on the journey there and back, but was literally creeping at the station. Not that it matters much but I was simply interested.
