I went looking for the thread I started re "blue republicans" and it is totally gone.
Why would that have happened?

I think the title was, "If you voted for Obama in 2008..." I poured my heart into a post there two days ago, and the thread was gone when I looked for it yesterday.[sm=wtf.gif]

If the thread became a train wreck the mods may have pulled it, my suggestion is to email a mod and ask. Because you have not been on the board long they may answer your inquiry.....us crusty old timers usually know why a thread is pulled, so they do not always answer us

Blue repubs are middle class and low income repubs too many of which make up the various TV...er Tea party(s) and are in for a shock if the policies they preach...do become law.

Thanks, Julia. Now here's a silly question: how do I email a mod? I clicked on "moderators" next to the politics & religion link, but it didn't show anyone.

like who, if you go to the very very very bottom of your home page, there is a support link.

Also, the moderators have cmail here too.  Like if you want to email me, you would search for mnottertail.  If you want to search for a moderator, do it by name.

Additionally, just find one of their posts and under their left hand side is a button to PM them, meaning to personal message them.  So there are several ways.

If you do a search from your home page for: VideoAdmin, our nicks and profiles will show up. From there you can email any of us. However, the one you email may not know why your thread was removed and you wouldn't be sure of who removed your thread. Feel free to email me and I will try to assist you.

The mods usually give P&R threads more latitude, but will still pull threads that have gotten particularly vicious. Sometimes threads return after they are cleaned up.

Remember if you quote a post that is likely to get pulled, because your quote contains TOS violations, your post will get pulled too.

You can also do a search by your username to see if the thread has been moved to Casual Banter (I did a search for yours and don't think this is the case here.) This is more likely to happen to posts that start off in Community Discussions and became a train wreck then to P&R posts.

I don't know whether it was pulled by a mod or not.  The thread wasn't locked and I was able to access it (and even post on it if I had something else to say on it) ....

Totally wrong thread Louve. The one that vanished was named "If you voted for Obama in 2008" or very close to that. Started only a few days ago.

see, here's how it fucking works. you start a thread, things go along, then it goes into high gear and gets all fucked over and shit gets said and insults fly, and the mods yank the fucker. you start a new thread, it goes along for a while, then it goes fucking haywire, and the mods fucking yank it. its great fucking fun.

don't sweat it, if they yanked it, they had a reason. don't take it personally. just say "aw crap! i was enjoying that thread" and go on to the next one. if you like the fucking train wrecks just wait a bit, there's never a shortage of them, one will be along in a few minutes.
