Also, while Ron's reference to Sorebutt was a cheap shot, military officers are held to a higher standard on this than civilians.

She didn`t. Quite the opposite, she help shorten the war and therefore saved lives.

She pissed a few republicans off is all,no biggie.

The obsession with that war by cons is puzzling.I`ve met a few who think we never should have left VN.It was FUBAR before we got there,we never should have gotten involved to begin with.

As I recall,we were duped/tricked/lied into getting into that war too. Some things, don`t change.

How many young men and woman did we needlessly lose in that disaster?

She did. Fact is that aiding and abetting the enemy is treason. She caused our POWs in Vietnam to suffer more severely than before she committed treason and helped cause more South Vietnamese, Camboians and Laosians to be tortured and killed by the enemy she had aided and abetted during the year after we left than during the 24 years we were there. No biggie to Jane HANOI Fonda and libs.

She pissed off most Vietnam Veterans, again no biggie to Jane HANOI Fonda and libs.

You recall erroneously. Some things, lib lying/misinforming/obfuscating, indeed don't change.

How many Vietnam Veterans have you told, face to face, that 58, 271 (current total) of their fellow Vietnam Veterans died in a needless disaster? Thought so, you disgraceful lib.

But they have no problem with Sorebutt McCain selling out his country under oath?

Speaking of disgraceful, how many Viet Nam veterans are liberals?

You are an active volcano of ignorance, factually and logically.

If being dropped by QVC is her cause celebre the POS has hopelessly jumped the shark, and its about time.

You know Jimbo, you are truly getting on my last nerve.

How many Vietnam vets have you talked to?

I've talked to many because my father was a disabled veteran and I spent my life in VA hospitals.

I can honestly say there is not one I have met who shares your chest-thumping bullshit.

But I guess it's a lot easier to talk shit when you still have both of your legs.

BamaD -> RE: Hanoi Jane is trying to rewrite history once again (7/20/2011 9:08:39 AM)

Every Veitnam vet I have talked to consider Fonda a traitor regardless of how they feel about the war.

Add another to the list.

mnottertail -> RE: Hanoi Jane is trying to rewrite history once again (7/20/2011 9:12:41 AM)

Add one who don't give a fuck about it.  And make mine Vietnam or Viet Nam.

That's not what I was talking about, I was talking about his implication that all Vietnam vets supported the war.

BamaD -> RE: Hanoi Jane is trying to rewrite history once again (7/20/2011 9:46:56 AM)

Ok I was addressing the point of this thread which I thought was Fondas treasonous behavior.  She saw pow camps with 4 men in a ten by ten "room" underfed with untreated injuries and told us that American pows were treated fine.  She gave the interrogators information to break through evasion tactics used by pows.  This is based on the word of a pow, that  is treason.  She undermined the military at home and did propaganda shots in Vietnam for the enemy. That too is treason.

mnottertail -> RE: Hanoi Jane is trying to rewrite history once again (7/20/2011 9:51:25 AM)

It is very clear that many here don't know the difference between treason, espionage, and the political ephethet; traitor.

Owner59 -> RE: Hanoi Jane is trying to rewrite history once again (7/20/2011 9:51:59 AM)

Funny,I haven`t met a vet in person who was bothered by Fonda.

Funnier,I haven`t met a neo-con who`ll admit that dick cheney committed treason when he leaked the ID of our CIA agent and her undercover field office(and staff) to our enemies.

That used to be a hanging offense, even to Viet Nam era Americans.

It would be funnier if he had been, since it never happened. But why let facts get in the way of your Hudson County ignorance.

FR,

"These mist covered mountains are a home now for me,
but my home is the low lands and always will be,
Some day you'll return to...your valleys and your farms,
and you'll no longer burn to be brothers in arms.

Through these fields of destruction, baptisms of fire.
I've witnessed your suffering...as the battle raged higher.
And though they did hut me so bad, in the fear and alarm,
You did not desert me my brothers in arms.

There's so many different worlds, so many different suns,
and we have just one world...but we live in different ones.

Now the suns gone to hell...and... the moon riding high
Let me bid you farewell...every man has to die,
But it's written in the starlight...and every line in your palm,
We're fools to make war on our brothers in arms.

Knopfler wrote there lyrics as a commentary on the civil war in El Salvador in the early 1980s, but if you're over a certain age you can not help but equate them with Vietnam.  All Vietnam was ever about, was a "proving ground" for weapons in a "triple canopy" jungle environment.

I'll tell you what I have learned from talking with actual combat veterans, the louder and longer the ranting is about not being allowed to win the war, the more likely you're talking with some REMF, that was no closer to the front lines than say Philadelphia is to New York.

Hauntingly,

slvemike4u -> RE: Hanoi Jane is trying to rewrite history once again (7/20/2011 10:19:34 AM)

While the war was certainly an error, and its prosecution a tragedy.....Jane went too far in going to Hanoi, and compounded that by allowing herself to be photographed at that AA piece.
Many were against the war, hell one was measured by one's stance vis a vis the war back than.
But going to Hanoi, making the comments she made...being photographed where she did...was ,and to most always will be,an affront to the young men fighting and dying in that place. She will indeed,as she admitted in an earlier biography, regret this till the day she dies....and some will always be oh so willing to remind her of it,as is their right.

Every Vietnam vet I've talked to came home telling everybody they could and was soon eligible...don't go. No matter what it takes do not under any circumstances, go to Vietnam. Yes, even go to Canada if you can't get into the NG the Coast Guard or the reserves.

slvemike is right. The war was wrong but hanoi jane went over the line. I hope this dogs her until she is no longer among us.

mnottertail -> RE: Hanoi Jane is trying to rewrite history once again (7/20/2011 11:09:48 AM)

It will be a little dog, she is quite well off.

Servant.....when you agree with me I get nervous and assume I must be missing something. Is it possible I have been wrong about this all these years [:)]
