It's a very nice seventy degrees here.  Yesterday, it was cooler.

Don't hate Me, folks.  This will swing around completely the other way next spring when you're talking about how nice it's getting outside and I'm still under two feet of snow.

Chubby hubby is my favorite for now.....I just recently discovered it! I bet ice cream sales are way up, even for this time of year, in most of the country..Well, I guess if they can get it home still frozen.

Have to admit,I would rather be under two feet of snow:)
One can always add clothes
its 92 here at 7.30 pm and that is without the heat index, and I am so much more a snow bunny than a sun bunny.
Going outside for more than a few seconds is enough to get me quite a twitter.
roll on the fall.....

It's been record heat here, too, I am told. I know one day it was 115 degrees in my yard, though where they measure it, it was only 107, I think.

Here in the Midwest, we've had record heat, and we're not the only ones.

Here in Florida we have that "record" heat everyday during the summer.

Some of us actually like it.

Hope you don't melt.

winter here. though nice springy day today. downgraded from long wool jacket to long wool cardigan and light scarf.

don't be hatin' me, give me a few months and i'll be bitchin about the heat too and longing for the winter. where i am now, it's OFTEN, not the heat, but the humidity. damn tropics/rainforest...

SweetShySubgirl -> RE: Is it hot where you are? (7/21/2011 12:05:08 AM)

I have no idea what Chubby Hubby is and I'm so grateful that I live where the weather stays within a 20 degree range almost year round except for one or two weeks in the summer where it might reach the 90s.

It's gonna suck when I have to move.

LaTigresse -> RE: Is it hot where you are? (7/21/2011 1:09:24 PM)

Ya.......our highs have been 3 digits all week.

Yesterday I said "fuck work" and took the day off to take my visiting nephew to the local swimming pool. It is a lovely outdoor pool just built a few years ago. The water felt like bath water it was so warm. It was still awesome.

Today I am back and work and soooooooo not looking forward to getting in my BLACK car at 5ish.

I never bitch about the heat. Yeah it's really uncomfortable here but our winters are so long that there is no way I'm going to complain.

No, hot it what it is here in the middle of the night with the AC on. What it is now could not possibly be described as "hot".

LinnaeaBorealis -> RE: Is it hot where you are? (7/24/2011 1:24:37 PM)

I live in a basement apt, so I haven't been unreasonably hot during our heat wave. I don't have a/c, although a friend offered me a window unit the other day. The thing is that if I took it, it would have to go into the only window that opens fully & that's also the window that the cats like to lie in to observe the outside world & get a cool breeze now & then. Plus, I'd only need it for a week or so. Lushy gave me a box fan & that's kept me cool enough.

I can't even imagine what our troops are going through in the Middle East. And I doubt very much if they have the convenience of air conditioning. And I'm old, so I remember the days when a/c meant a cold shower & some ice in our coffee, survive the day & go sit on the shaded porch & visit with the neighbors until bedtime. We also slept in the yard when it was too hot in the house. And a/c in the car meant roll down the windows & drive 60mph. It got hot, but it didn't kill any of us. Or not many anyway. [8D]
