Some place nobody will like is usually the place where the best legislation is made.

Not to be a wet-blanket, but sometimes the reason nobody likes a particular piece of legislation is that it's simply an absolute piece of shit. That's what happened here in Minnesota this week. The government was shut down for 3 weeks, and when they finally agreed on a budget, everybody on both sides of the aisle hated it because nobody got anything they wanted. The bill they finally passed solved absolutely nothing except to end the shutdown - it did not fix one single one of the issues that led to the shutdown, and all it did was postpone the problem for another 2 years. I expect Obama to cave in just as our governor did, and let the republicans bend him over backwards because he doesn't have the balls to stand his ground. I hope he proves me wrong, but I'm not exactly holding my breath.

Obama is in full reelection mode. He insists on a clean deficit increase bill for months, campaigns and travels, ignoring the problem, and then he turns around and throws the Dem party under the bus, insisting that they give him a budget plan in 48 hours with spending cuts. What a clown. Somebody should revoke his commercial license before he runs over more people.

They better come up with spending cuts that don't involve Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. Most Americans are strongly against cuts in these three areas. Over 70% of Americans are unhappy with Republican leaders because of this, so they're likely to get voted out next election. The smartest thing Obama could do to get re-elected is take Clinton's advice and raise the debt ceiling without congressional approval and refuse to sign anything containing cuts to social security, medicare, and medicaid. The only way he'll cave in on these three is if he doesn't want to get re-elected.

Ah yes, the Republican Party isn't in full reelection mode, right? Come on willbe, that's a load of crap and you know it! (and if you dont, your an idiot)

I seem to recall those crazy Republican/Tea Party idiots telling Americans that if they were elected, they'd get a jobs bill passed through Congress. Here we are, nine and a half months AFTER those elections; care to point out that massive jobs bill that was suppose to be passed in Congress by now?

We can play this silly game of 'whose candidate is better' all night, and nothing gets done. The problem is still present the very next day. I think its amusing/insulting that Republicans have pledged an oath to someone thats not a resident of their state/district over all the citizens of their state/district regarding taxes being increased. I thought Republicans/Tea Party were against 'Big Goverment' and yet, are taking orders from an organization thats held accountable to nothing and nobody (that is the central premise of 'big goverment').

There were jobs bills. Republicans voted NO on them. According to the republican elite, Americans aren't "entitled" to jobs. Yet these traitors are "entitled" to live in the US. I do have to agree with Wilbur that Obama isn't being very smart right now.

There is no such thing as a "jobs bill".
