BitaTruble -> Are you ready for some Football? (7/21/2011 6:22:36 PM)

... and if so, do you mind if it's crappy football? No training camps, ponderous athletes who ate too much KFC during this looooooooong off-season. What kind of caliber of play can we expect?

We may actually get to find out shortly.

It's always about the $$$ but as a fan, don't expect me to fork over stadium prices, parking prices and consession stand prices to watch a bunch of crap. I already have to suffer through the crap of Alex Smith as my quarterback so am not happy in any event.

What say you fanatics?

Are you ready for some.. what may or may not be football?

LadyPact -> RE: Are you ready for some Football? (7/21/2011 6:29:28 PM)

Oh good.  Something Bita and I agree on.  LOL.

Oddly enough, one of the things that MP really appreciated about Me our first fall together was the fact that I would sit down (if you can call it that) and watch football.  Plus, I honestly knew what in the hell was going on.

I'm not really a fanatic.  I'm a bigger fan the years that the Vikings are doing well and I *love* the seasons when things are really intense with Green Bay.  (Yes, I'm from PA, but I am a Viks fan.  Blame Dante from many years ago.)  When they suck or I have better things to do, I don't care as much.

bita did you catch this response in the discussion topics in the article

Jeff…speaking of Jerry Jones, did you read in the ESPN magazine where parking at Texas Stadium in their lot costs $75 for three hours? Jerry must make a fortune off that one, I’d bet.

Last year I went to my first pro football games.  The Mister is a Raider season ticket holder (which I decided would not be a hard limit for this Niners fan) and I joined him for several games and had a ball.

Given it's been the Raiders, money has already been forked over to watch a bunch of crap. LOL.  BUT....for me it was the experience that was so enjoyable - not just watching the game but the tailgates prior to the game, the fans, hanging out in the rain (seriously, that was fun), eating peanuts and drinking beer....we would park outside the stadium lot for free, and didn't mind walking a block or two through the tailgate parties.  It was all a blast, except for the seagulls who start flying overhead around the beginning of the 4th quarter.

He's considering not getting his season tickets this year, because of girl-child stuff.  I hope he does.  And if my Dad were alive he'd let me have it. [8D]

Holy crap! No, I didn't Kappy (btw - it's GREAT to see you!) I thought we were bad in SF with $25 bux to park.

Lady P - I'm afraid I will have to disown you. I am a die-hard 9er fan, but Greenbay is my runner up.

Let this be WAR! LOL

C'mere.  Let Me flip that cheese right off your head.

BitaTruble -> RE: Are you ready for some Football? (7/21/2011 6:49:30 PM)

Okay.. but I'll have to remove the Superbowl crown to do it. [;)]

BitaTruble -> RE: Are you ready for some Football? (7/21/2011 6:50:57 PM)

My girl NV.. YES.. the experience is what it's all about. I'm just sorry you had to experience Raider cockroaches instead of 9er lobster for good eats. hehehe

MasterG2kTR -> RE: Are you ready for some Football? (7/21/2011 7:23:43 PM)

I'm kinda hoping they don't settle the dispute. If there is no pro-football season the LFL said they would step up and fill the time slots.

LFL = Lingerie Football League  [8D][:D]

LOL hey I appreciate the sympathy!!  But it's not so bad....really....at least that's what I'm telling myself [:)]

And Oakland charges $35 to park. I thought that was insane, but $75 Kappy?  That's unbelievable!

DomImus -> RE: Are you ready for some Football? (7/21/2011 7:47:49 PM)

I grew up in Pittsburgh. Even crappy Steeler football is better than anything the other teams can muster on a good day. I'll watch.

flcouple2009 -> RE: Are you ready for some Football? (7/21/2011 8:04:20 PM)

Don't get to excited.  Some of the players seem intent on screwing this up.

DesFIP -> RE: Are you ready for some Football? (7/21/2011 9:18:32 PM)

The Man got hooked on college football during those hundreds of bowl games. Well it seemed like hundreds. He'd be just as happy if they started broadcasting college games.

And in a small town, everybody goes on Friday nights to the high school games. I'm hoping now that the teen's graduated, that I don't have to go. I never figured out how to stay warm, wool socks, thermal underwear and boots be damned.

EgillAssa -> RE: Are you ready for some Football? (7/21/2011 10:59:25 PM)

i very rarely watch pro football... Though i am a 9er fan..... College football however is my thing.... Florida Gators baby!!! *runs around doing the gator chomp* you know your a hardcore fan when your ringtone is your teams "theme song". Gator Bait by The Pearly Whites.... Daddy loves watching Gator football with me... Except when i throw the popcorn bowl or my high heel and it sticks in the wall.. (which is how we found out i am an excellent dart player)

EgillAssa -> RE: Are you ready for some Football? (7/21/2011 11:02:36 PM)

Master's sentiments exactly!!!! I am not a big football fan but He is and love, love, loves the Steelers and has forever. I actually got and read "Football For Dummies" so I can be better versed in just what the hell is happening on that field. I still don't really understand it that well but hey, if I have to endure watching Troy Palamalu for several hours, I suppoooooose I can drag myself through it[;)]

Right now, the Broncos are undefeated and tied for first place.  If the strike/lockout is called off, that's not gonna last long.
