News Corp. (NWSA)’s loss of $7 billion in market value over four trading days shows investor concerns that a probe into alleged phone hacking by journalists at one London newspaper could have a broader impact on the company.

Rupert Murdoch’s New York-based media company fell 7.6 percent in Nasdaq Stock Market trading yesterday, the biggest drop since April 2009. It was the fourth straight decline in the company’s closing price, cutting its market value by 15 percent. The stock declined another 13 cents to $15.35 today, giving the company a market capitalization of about $41 billion.

LMAO. The stock is closer to its 52 week high than it is to its 52 week low. Its up 10% in the last 3 days and down 8.3% since July 5th, its recent high. In a week or two it will be back to where it was 2 weeks ago.

I wonder why Murdoch is buying back 5 billion of News Corp over the next year, and if that is part of why is stock is trading higher volume

News Corp's shares fell less than 1 percent to close at $15.35 on Tuesday as Rupert Murdoch's media conglomerate responded to investor pressure to support the stock. Shares earlier rose more than 2 percent on the news of the buyback.

You do realize that News Corp is going to have to face case after case after case for all the hacking they have done and that juries will be sympathetic to those who were hacked... this scandal is going to cost them dear, and it should.
