My question is i've had about a handfull of impact play scenes from mild to moderate pain. But the longer i go with out playing my mind creates the after effects of where i had been hit; the sting, throbbing and overall feel. So is this normal or ......?

Sure - it's part of fantasising about something that turns you on.

I get a lot of impact play, and I'm lucky that my Master enjoys leaving bruises and welts that can last for weeks. The sensation of those marks is wonderful, and they put me in a really happy headspace for a long, long time.

But recently we couldn't play for about a month (for health reasons) and I missed it so badly. I would find myself daydreaming of the sensations of play, just like I'm sure I'd daydream about a good hard shag after a month of celibacy
