This whole thread was bullshit from the start. Seriosuly, conservatives are now gonna be dictating career paths for others? Forcing people to change careers? My how we bury a person's freedom of choice when its handy to do so. I remember when you could have 25 to 50 years of job security in the private sector. But that began to be gutted under Reagan, and now the story line is "Wow, look at the discrepancy between the private sector and government" - even though the discrepancy is was created by the very types now claiming "Wow, ....".

More people quit their jobs...yes more people quit their jobs during the depression than quit the federal jobs now. You almost have to kill somebody to get fired from the federal govt. I know people a who know federal employees and I've known federal employees that even announce to their co-workers that they re 'retired' (not doing any work) while still showing up to get their paycheck. Once a federal employee has 20+ years in they will never...never be fired. White collar federal jobs are simply the best, most secure highest paid jobs on the planet. The only exception being federal judge.
