The Obama administration announced Friday that the military had made all necessary preparations to allow gays to serve openly in the armed forces, setting the stage for the repeal of the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy in 60 days.

Holy shit! I damn near cried.

There's still more progress to be made, as the article specifically mentions. Still, it's moving forward. It doesn't necessarily include poly folks or just plain kink, but I'm so happy for the folks where it does apply.

Well that takes care of things on the legislative front....but it will take years before the mentality itself changes.No legislation can address that.

slveMike and I have agreed on things twice this week. I might have to stop drinking. Having said that, I didn't serve in the military but really have never seen it being a problem if I were serving with someone gay. I worked at the phone company with some gay guys and you know what, they were just like the other guys I worked with. In my mind a gay guy will fight side by side just like any one else. It's about time this happens.
