Epytropos -> The artist formerly known as Palliata (7/23/2011 1:55:52 AM)

Hello all. Palliata here. I've decided to create a new account with a slightly more masculine name so that I can go a solid week without being called "she" lol. I'll skip the normal intro stuff since most of you know me well enough. Subs feel free to throw yourselves at me as if I was a sexy newcomer just the same, naturally.

Palliata -> RE: The artist formerly known as Palliata (7/23/2011 1:57:18 AM)

(just to confirm I am who I say I am)

Charnegui -> RE: The artist formerly known as Palliata (7/23/2011 2:00:12 AM)

Throws a rock [:D] Oops, sorry, I missed.

Hi... welcome back and.....

New sigline maybe? Or the old one, just to remember you by?

Epytropos -> RE: The artist formerly known as Palliata (7/23/2011 2:05:35 AM)

I edited it, but it seems to not have changed. Strange...

EDIT: Seems to have been ironed out.

Awareness -> RE: The artist formerly known as Palliata (7/23/2011 2:21:26 AM)

The tendency toward the exotic is probably your undoing as it often indicates a level of pretension which is as vivid a red flag as the words "Dom", "Lord" or "Master".

VaguelyCurious -> RE: The artist formerly known as Palliata (7/23/2011 3:12:46 AM)

...or you'll just get language nerds.

I had a 'hah! I know what that means! :D' moment. I doubt I'll be the only one.

If people find my love of languages to be a red flag, they are likely not people I'm going to connect with. At the end of the day, on most occasions when one person rejects another implicitly or explicitly it is best for both - neither of them will be well-served by the formation of a relationship. Altering my patterns to pick up women is a fantastic way to get play, but a horrible way to find anything worth maintaining. It's also rather distasteful.

As to the use of Dom as a red flag, I'm open to suggestions of less pretentious descriptors if you have them. I use words because they express my ideas - I do not know of a better term to distinguish my preferred role.

Welcome To CM... you & your masculine name

DarkSteven -> RE: The artist formerly known as Palliata (7/23/2011 4:48:57 AM)

/Throws three subs and four rocks for good measure at Palliata, I mean Epytropos/

Dude, you're getting esoteric.  Spanish is a big influence on our culture, so anything ending in an "a" looks female and anything ending in an "o" looks masculine.

myotherself -> RE: The artist formerly known as Palliata (7/23/2011 5:21:07 AM)

add me to the pile of weirdos who know what Palliata's new name means [:)]

And Epy - the new name is fab, but the pic looks kinda feminine...[:D]

LOL the pic is non-negotiable. I have a general theme going and neither the energy or the inclination to find another one. Do you know how hard it is to find two pieces of art on the same BDSM-related thing? Really, really, is how hard.

On a broader note, I'm kind of impressed with the number of people who recognize Epytropos. Here I thought I was being obscure and mysterious (bitches love mystery - ask anyone [;)]), it turns out I may as well have named myself in English and called it a day.

zephyroftheNorth -> RE: The artist formerly known as Palliata (7/23/2011 5:52:40 AM)

Heh, I have no idea what your name means ~sad face~

Welcome to CM...both of you, I never got a chance to say hi the first time [:)]

Zeph

myotherself -> RE: The artist formerly known as Palliata (7/23/2011 6:10:41 AM)

sometimes I can't resist the obvious jokes [:D]

Actually I love the pic...although it would look better with a pizza on the top...

LillyBoPeep -> RE: The artist formerly known as Palliata (7/23/2011 7:38:58 AM)

welcome back =p
and i don't think anyone considers your name "pretentious" -- certainly a person claiming to know what everyone would find "pretensions" and thus, avoidable, is its own level of pretentiousness, too? particularly coming from who it's coming from.
it's a great name, and perfectly suitable to the character and perspective you've presented here under your former name. ^_^

BurntKitty -> RE: The artist formerly known as Palliata (7/23/2011 8:11:08 AM)

Welcome again.

I admit to googling the name. (Hey, I had to take Latin in HS, not Greek.) I love it and feel it's most appropriate.

I have to say that pic has always looked sexy as hell to me.

OohAahMrs -> RE: The artist formerly known as Palliata (7/23/2011 8:29:48 AM)

Welcome you macho, sexy newcomer, you may well be a woman. The trouble with people throwing themselves at you is that they have a tendency to miss!

All the better - then they're splayed helpless on the floor, which is one of my favorite places to have submissives in the first place [:D]

@bunny, Lilly, and burntkitty; I'm glad to see my careful choices have not gone unappreciated, even if I've lost the love and dedication for which Awareness is so well-known.

On an unrelated note, I've already been mistaken for a girl on this new account. I'm beginning to wonder if my written manner is the problem. I really don't think it gets much more masculine-sounding that Epytropos.

erieangel -> RE: The artist formerly known as Palliata (7/23/2011 1:52:43 PM)

I love the name!!

MissImmortalPain -> RE: The artist formerly known as Palliata (7/23/2011 2:34:42 PM)

I liked the other name better, but then I knew you were male. So as with anything else welcome to the forum side of collarme. Best of luck finding what makes you happy.
