Apparently, once you know what results you want, you just failover some network segments and activate the man-in-the-middle attack...

Been following this lawsuit since it was filed. The technical evidence presented so far seems overwhelming that it was possible to manipulate the vote totals. Proving that the intent was to enable rigging the election and that the vote totals were changed is going to be quite a bit more difficult since the star witness is dead.

These allegations are pretty stunning. How has this story been kept under wraps for so long?

I say we go back to paper ballots.

Curious there could be voter tampering going on with these machines and how they are set up. Even more so that the 'tinfoil hat' conservatives do not cry foul. Oh, I forgot, the votes were in their favor....

Known about this for a long time. Thing with this is everything is hard to prove unless there is a "paper trail". Unless we ALL know about computer programming and the software used is public open source, there will be little if any evidence. Allegations have been flying around in the alternative media for a long time, many articles noting known connectioins between the vendors of the software and hardware used with political parties. As with many such issues it takes the regular media some time to catch up, if they ever do. Many authors have noted the unacceptability of electronic voting, citing the possibility for abuse.

However if I say something that cannot be supported by fifty links to accredited media sources (whatever that is) the temperature seems to rise. There is whole lot of shit that I simply don't bother to mention because some people are too anal to accept them, or even the possibility. However now that it has been brought up, I will relate what I have gleaned over the years.

First of all it is obvious that if voter turnout is overwhelmingly for one or the other option, the fraud is very difficult if not impossible to perpetrate. For example I couldn't believe that Bush got elected to a second term at first, but after some time I talked with someone who voted for him. Well, people like that are the ones who made the fraud, if true, possible.

And where did the phrase "Vote early, vote often" originate ? Surely one cannot vote more than once in one precinct, and hogher traffic on the roads could be reasonably expected at poll time, but on the interstates ? And absentee ballots are very prone to fraud. I could have done it myself. My Father died a bit over two years ago. If he had registered for an absentee ballot I could easily vote his vote as well as mine and probably never get caught. If there were ever anyone worth voting for I might consider it.

Absentee ballots come in from many places in the world, not just from the retired or disabled. And this is even without any electronic intervention. It's plain to see that the stakes are high to the candidates, and when the stakes are high, you know what happens. It is human nature. Now just who would choose a company that will supply voting machines and write the software therefor ? Obviously it would be the incumbents right ? The unelected do not make these decisions.

Now there is a push to require state IDs to vote. Now most states hold that it is illegal to have a driver's license in their state and another at the same time. One notable exception is Florida ( coincidence eh ? ). However this does not apply to state issued ID cards. Of course there are residency requirements usually, but so what ? Just rent or buy more than one house. Once it's established though, all you have to do is renew the ID every few years. With the stakes so high, there is no doubt that some people are paid to do this. Probably not much, but if one already supports a certain party they will probably work cheap. And the money is there, make no mistake.

And none of this has even gotten into software. Even software engineers might not detect intentional errors. What's more, things can be hard coded into the ICs themselves to "lose" certain data meeting certain parameters. Was Bush choice A or B ? Was Gore choice B or A ? Who knows, and who knows which data are occasionally "lost" ?

Some of you will no doubt chalk this up to that "I don't trust that which I don't understand" and I say to that - GADDAMN RIGHT ! As a matter of fact up until around fifteen years ago I refused to buy anything which I could not repair myself, and that includes understanding it's entire theory of operation. If you think that was stupid, then we definitely disagree. However over the years that philosophy became impossible to implement.

And now with the high level of voter apathy, you may someday find out that you voted when you actually hadn't. If you didn't vote, did you happen to check and see if you were recorded as having voted ? Doubtful to say the least. And even with that, it's been said that sometimes voter turnout is so low in this country, if it had been that low elsewhere the results would not be considered valid. That of course is not solid fact, but I believe it to be a reasonable supposition.

Bring back the paper trail so that true recounts are possible, or voting might just as well be abolished.
