Afternoon all

I constructed a dungeon many years ago for slaves and the like. Newer meat to the journey seem to find it a step too far. Have attitudes towards home dungeons changed?

myotherself -> RE: Do Dungeons Scare People? (7/25/2011 9:54:53 AM)

I doubt it was the dungeon that scared off the less experienced people...

DarkSteven -> RE: Do Dungeons Scare People? (7/25/2011 10:01:57 AM)

Was this on the sixth date, after you had carefully explained BDSM and your position in it, or was it immediately on your 'bratting meat' entering your house with no warning? And how well do you know how to use your equipment to minimize risks?

Iamsemisweet -> RE: Do Dungeons Scare People? (7/25/2011 10:02:08 AM)

Hmm. Maybe being referred to as "newer meat" is what scared them. Or just offended them

BraceYourself -> RE: Do Dungeons Scare People? (7/25/2011 10:12:39 AM)

Thanks for all your replies, terminology may have been harsh with reference to "newer meat" but the scene in Vauxhall, London back in late 90s was very much into the dungeon scene. My question is have times changed/

DarkSteven - Whilst we all have our kinks, safety is at the forefront of play.

I know quite a few people with home dungeons. They don't seem to have any problem bringing subs of all experience levels into their dungeons.

But then again, I only hang around with kinksters who show respect for their potential play partner.

YMMV

Word.

VC (who has in fact partied pretty fucking hard in Vauxhall.)

I have no idea if attitudes have changed or not. What I CAN tell you is that just recently some of our kinky friends who are trying to pervert us (what is it with you kinksters? Is that some gene you all share? LOL) were talking about having us over for some show & tell. I suggested that taking Carol into the dungeon might be a little off-putting whereas dragging the same toys out onto the floor of the living room would make it more like a fun little kinky tupperware party -- "Oh look, a Wartenberg wheel! What's that feel like?"

LadyPact -> RE: Do Dungeons Scare People? (7/25/2011 11:00:51 AM)

All I can say is that what you are running into, OP, is different than My experiences.  Usually, folks think what I've set up is pretty cool.

MasterSlaveLA

Too funny, thanks for the forum welcome. No like that at all. I just remember the scene back in the day when it was an accepted practice to have a creative dungeon. I am not talking about bring random pick ups back, just friends on the scene who seem to have deviated away from such pleasures.

DesFIP -> RE: Do Dungeons Scare People? (7/25/2011 2:43:42 PM)

You have no profile so I can't tell your age. However since you're talking about attitudes changing in 15 years, I would hope so. People you knew who used to party hard 15 years ago are at a different stage in their life. Perhaps play is not nearly as paramount as the relationship is now. The drive to have the shiny new toy may also have fallen to the wayside as over the years they've used more than enough toys and seek their satisfaction elsewhere.

And the new meat may simply not be interested in playing with people with that large an age difference.

Yerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr welcome, ya thick-skinned bastard... you'll do fine round these parts!!! [:)]

It's not unaccepted... with the advent of the internet (i.e., information) said "newer meat" aren't so dumb to just follow someone to their private dungeon.  The allure to public dungeons is not just the equipment, but the SAFETY of it being public.  Not true of some room in some alleged Toppy's house.  Thus, said dungeon is merely a bonus to those who are interested in YOU first, the kink second.

1)  If they're "friends on the scene", then they're hardly "newer meat", are they?  More likely they ARE said "random pick-ups".

2)  Said "deviation" may be a result of (i) not seeking "such pleasures" with you, and/or (ii) seeking something beyond mere kink -- i.e., a relationship/coupling.  I suspect most s-types would love having a play room... with the person they are interested in.  I doubt there's much "deviation" from the-good-old-days.

littlewonder -> RE: Do Dungeons Scare People? (7/25/2011 2:49:42 PM)

They don't scare me. They simply don't do anything for me. I'd rather our play be spontaneous and not a thought out plan with lots of toys and such.

Then again I'm not an exhibitionist or a voyeur or into public play and I'm monogamous....so going to other people's dungeons would seem useless.

LPslittleclip -> RE: Do Dungeons Scare People? (7/25/2011 8:48:05 PM)

it all depends on how its presented to a new sub in full light with explanation and open discussion in a frendly manner. or having photos of it online or in a journal. if its just second meeting and down to a dark basement with no real explaination they might just runn and not stop. i was a bit nervous when i went to my first public dungon i did look online first so i knew a bit about it. its all in how it is presented.

Madame4a -> RE: Do Dungeons Scare People? (7/26/2011 8:47:44 AM)

Meat? ... what are ya doing' grilling in there?

JanahX -> RE: Do Dungeons Scare People? (7/26/2011 9:02:22 AM)

when some guy calls another person "meat" it makes me think of Jeffrey Dahmer, Gary Heidnik, David Parker Ray .....

GreedyTop -> RE: Do Dungeons Scare People? (7/26/2011 9:06:04 AM)

heh. I used to have a bdsm/fuck buddy thing goin with a guy who called me (among other things) fuckmeat. meat is NOT a bad thing...

littlewonder -> RE: Do Dungeons Scare People? (7/26/2011 9:21:15 AM)

heh...it's a regular everyday term around this household. [:D]

I'm not complaining.

littleone35 -> RE: Do Dungeons Scare People? (7/26/2011 10:18:05 AM)

Not really i would not go into a dungon without my Master and i am always safe with him.  I might be scared what "evil" things he has in plan for me but the dungon itself no.
