Dude, the site isn't working for you because you're not attracting the real people.  If you're looking for random hookups, you're going about it right, but there aren't many women who want that.  Try to get one interested in a relationship.

To meet the *women* in here you need your own place, a good paying job, and a car.
No beanbag furniture, no milk crates, no cement blocks holding a matress up.

Wait.  You're in NY and you can't manage to meet kinky people?  If you're serious about that, then yes, you're doing it wrong.

Listen to what the other folks gave you for advice.  In addition, stop thinking that just because you created a profile that kinky folks are going to come running to you.  You're male, so it doesn't work like that for you.  Go to a munch or a BDSM club.  You will meet tons of kinky folks there.  In the meantime, look for some of the past threads that we've had on how to write an attractive profile and how to send out a good first contact message.  You will need both.

But I like beanbag furniture (and this is coming from a lady that is missing a leg) They are great to have around to fall on, and sometimes throw at people.

Op. The site "works" depending on what you want it to work for. The normal tips are...stop looking for cheap hookups. Get real about what you want. Fill out your profile, cm didn't give it to you for no reason. Oh and a personal fav of mine. "Everyone has at least one friend. Go get yours and get them to take your pic. This site works perfectly well for me, I have met several people (yes, in real life) from this site and I count many more as long-distance friends (very "real" friends)

There are a fair number of scammers, a huge number of people incompatible with my needs, and a large dollop of whiny-ass biatches, but with patience and effort you can find the people you seek.

Nicholas you only get out of life what you put into it. So far you have put next to no effort into making yourself known.
Just because we are 'kinky' folk doesn't mean you will be of interest. If you aren't willing to put time into making your
profile interesting so people can find out more about you as a person, then why would anyone contact you? Two things
come to mind when viewing your 'profile' ... you're 19 (too young for many of the ladies) and you haven't put any effort
into selling yourself so you would most likely be as indolent in a relationship.
