ORIGINAL: BitaTruble So, in a nutshell, the press corp is too lazy to do their homework. Maybe the WH should release audio tapes to make life easier for the "American people" who were not paying attention before hand. ::chuckles:: Well, the problem is that the Obama budget that was linked to above was DOA, and the entire point of the negotiations is to arrive at a new one. Congress (both Dems and Repubs) have provided such updated budget plans, and had them scored by the CBO. The WH appears to be taking the route of "I'll know it when I see it". Firm Be careful with the characterization of any bill as "DOA", unless youre referring to it being dead with the party proposing it or with the CBO not supporting the numbers, as is the case with the Reid proposal. The Dems are playing a very weak hand with the "DOA" and "Veto" cards on the Boehner bill. Reid is even backing off on the DOA rhetoric and talking more about making changes to it when it reaches the Senate. There is absolultely zero chance that a GOP coming out of the House will not be passed in almost identical form in the Senate, and not a chance in hell that Obama would veto it, just as there was no chance that some form of TARP wouldnt be passed. When the hired guns are playing the "sky is going to fall" game politicians will never risk them being right, and will err on the side of going along with the crowd.
