ORIGINAL: Owner59 I think the President is going to do well in this latest row with the cons. I too wish he kicked some more ass but he`s the whole nation`s president, not just the left`s. Owner, now, now, there's plenty on the left who no longer like Oblunder. Seems he made just a little promise to get us out of Afganistan and Iraq and what does he do? He sends 30,000 more Troops into Afganistan! And just to throw a little salt into the wound he gets us involved in Libya! There's a lot of people out here who are very angry at him for that stuff! I'm waiting for the peace demonstrations! It'd be fun holding a sign with thousands of people around just like in the 1960's! Oh, and he's not "the left's" president either, he's bought and paid for by big banks and stock houses! Ah, trying to defend the GOP's failures, eh, pops? Yeah, Mr. Obama did add troops into Afghanistan.....He even got Osama bin Laden! (ok, SEAL Team 6 really did the deed...) Actually, compared to how George W. Bush got us involved in Iraq, I would have to say, that our involvement in Libya is best rated as 'non-existant'. We have other.....MORE....important things to deal with. You have been keeping up with recent (i.e. last 24 hours) news right? When it comes down to the next election, the Independents will have to decide. Do they want the loony-toon GOP candidate that has absolutely no clue they are in the Milky Way Galaxy? Or the guy that has been President and doing a good job, given the 'hand' he was dealt back in 2008? Most of them are not going to want crazy, lunatic Republicans/Tea Party. BTW, pops, where is that JOBS BILL the Republicans/Tea Party folks promised would be pushed through Congress.....IF....we elected them? Joether, you wearn't in here a few years ago when Bush was president. I've *never* liked Bush. I've said on many occaisions that we don't need whole Army Divisions who act as targets to get Bin Laden and al queada. You get them using assasins, spies, poison gas, chemical warfare, poisoning their water sources etc. And remote drones. You don't invade whole countries and do "nation building" so that big cos. can make tons of money off of the taxpayers! And, that's not what we're paying our taxes for! I don't understand why "Washington" feels the need to get *us* involved in the internal affairs of foreign countries. WTF, what are we, cops going on a "domestic" call??? They need to be "focused like a lazer" on *this* country. And how much per day is our "non-existent" involvement in Libya costing the U.S. Taxpayers? Tell the 6,000 Sailors and Marines on that Carrier and all the support ships that they're,..."non-existant." Joether, don't get me wrong, I'd like to the the military cut by 50% so Washington would have much less capability to try to get us involved in foreign countries. But, I'd also like to see the State Dept cut by 60-70%, Education, Energy and the EPA ended and many other programs cut or ended as well. And of course I've been keeping up with the budget process. They need to make some *real* deep cuts, not just "cuts" in the "growth of the same old programs that aren't working. And how is Obama "doing a good job?" He won't enforce our laws, he sues one of our states for trying to do the job that "he" won't do, he's spent more money than all the presidents before him, big banks and stock houses love him, on the News yesterday his "Jobs CZAR" and Ceo of General Electric announced that he'd be closing a big plant in Wisconsin and moving it to China and "investing" a further $2 B there! WTH!!! Isn't Obama going to stop him or what? Imelt was supposed to be "non-existant" on that Brazil trip. He's a Terrible president! If he was a Republican the left would be demonstrating in the streets by now for doing all those things! Side by side with the Independents. If I were a lefty I'd consider him a Republican! Yet many lefties would knock each other unconcious just to shake his hand. What were you saying about the Milky Way? And yes you're right about us Independents making the decision in Nov of 2012. However we're going to have a lot of help from seniors, veterans, labor unions, the medical professions, and a lot of others. Joether, when a president promises to get us out of Afganistan before the election and doesn't, what do you call that?
