BRAVE NEW SCHOOLS
Sixth grader targeted
for pro-gun remarks
'A' student defends 2nd Amendment,
flagged as violence risk

School officials at Harbor Lights Middle School flagged a Holland, Michigan
boy as potentially dangerous because the 12-year-old suggested to a teacher
that one way to prevent school shootings would be to arm instructors.
Derek Loutzenheiser, a model student who had such good grades that some
teachers recommended he be tested early for a popular standardized
pre-college performance test, made his comments in early March, after being
asked by a social studies teacher what he thought might make kids safer in
school.

Derek had been asked to participate in a classroom discussion about "school
shootings and safety," said the sixth grader's father, Tim Loutzenheiser.

"My son simply stated that his opinion was that he would feel safer if some
of the adults at the school were trained and allowed to carry firearms," Mr.
Loutzenheiser told WorldNetDaily.

His reply caused him to be "flagged" as a potential violence risk by
teachers and school administrators, who then contacted his parents to
suggest they meet with the school's "Hazard and Risk Assessment Team."

"My wife and I were in disbelief when they (school officials) telephoned us
and told us that's what they wanted to do," Loutzenheiser said. "We asked,
'Do you have the right kid?'"

In resulting talks with school officials, Loutzenheiser said he learned that
his son "often spoke favorably about the First and Second Amendments, but
the comment he made to his Social Studies teacher was the one that triggered
this action."

School officials told the couple that because of Derek's comments he should
be separated from the other students and forced to enter the school's
"Mentor" program, where he would be studied by an adult supervisor who would
monitor Derek's thought processes.

"We were told that this would be in the best interest of my son, and by
doing this the school would not have to involve Social Services,"
Loutzenheiser said. "We refused."

At that point, the couple contacted an attorney in nearby Grand Rapids,
Michigan -- one referred to them through the National Rifle Association's
Institute for Legislative Action. The couple has also been told by a
representative from the Rutherford Institute, an international legal and
educational civil liberties organization, that "they would be willing to
take on this issue."

Loutzenheiser said when he and his wife, Shelly, arrived for the Hazard Team
meeting Mar. 8, "We were outnumbered 7 to 2." He told WorldNetDaily that he
wanted to make a good first impression with the members, so he shook each
member's hand and introduced himself.

He also told them he had brought along a tape recorder and would be taping
the proceedings since none of the legal organizations that said they would
represent him could send a representative to the meeting on such short
notice.

"My wife and I both saw a transformation from 'smugness' ... to looks of
great concern on some of their faces," he said.

"What was odd about the purpose of this whole meeting," said Loutzenheiser,
"was that three of the team members were Derek's teachers, and each of them
said they didn't know there was any 'situation' with him. That got me to
thinking, 'Then why are we here?'"

However, and though "team" members denied it, the elder Loutzenheiser said
he believes teachers and school administrative personnel began to form a bad
impression of his son when, in January of this year, the sixth grader
refused to sign a "Red Letter" vow of peace to celebrate Martin Luther
King's birthday.

"The letter, which was written by the principal," Loutzenheiser said, "asked
the students to take an oath to turn in their friends for suspicious
activity, to vow to never defend themselves if attacked, and something to
the effect of never to use a gun or other weapons. Derek simply told the
principal, 'I'm not signing that.'

"I think that's what got him 'noticed' by some of the administrative staff
at least," he said.

Of the meeting with "team" members, Loutzenheiser said, "We got right to the
point and determined that the charges against my son are without merit. They
all assured me that he is a wonderful student, gets straight A's, and
because he is a little more advanced academically (at their suggestion he
took the ACT test and scored very well) they feel he may need an 'adult' to
talk to about issues."

Loutzenheiser admitted he didn't know what team members were implying about
having Derek "talk to an adult about issues." He added, "We were able to
determine that because my son knows and understands political and
Constitutional issues so well, that he often speaks in terms not typical of
a 12-year-old, and we should be assured they have no issues with this."

The couple believes Derek's Social Studies teacher was the impetus for the
inquiry.

"She felt concern when Derek stated -- when she asked -- that he would feel
safer if some of the adults would be trained and have access to firearms at
school," said Derek's father. "Because this teacher felt this [was an]
irrational threat, she spoke to other 'team' members who are also Derek's
teachers."

The couple said they discovered that there had been a series of similar
misunderstandings involving some of the things Derek had said in school --
none of which were threatening or dangerous.

One teacher, said Loutzenheiser, stated that he heard Derek speak of taking
the hunter's safety course -- which was offered through the school -- and
that Derek sometimes spoke about how he liked hunting.

Another teacher said that in her class, where his son helps write the school
paper, he was tasked with reviewing a video game. The teacher, he said, felt
that the game might contain violence but didn't feel "concern" until "after
she spoke with the 'team.'"

One of the vice principals, the couple said, also felt Derek may need some
"mentoring" because he was "attacked by three older students last September,
in which Derek fought back and deterred his attackers on school property,"
Loutzenheiser said.

"They (school officials) wanted to reinforce how understanding they were, in
light of the fact that the school has a zero tolerance policy -- no fighting
even in self defense -- and how Derek was not punished in any way for
defending himself," Loutzenheiser said.

However, his wife Shelly had inquired of teachers and school officials just
a day before the meeting occurred, and "there were no issues yesterday, but
they seemed to remember some today," he said.

"We also asked them why, if these problems were so terrible, no one had
bothered to pick up the phone and call us before it came to this," said
Loutzenheiser.

More disturbing to the couple was the school's constant alluding to "a
list" -- ostensibly the same "list" their son, Derek, was on, albeit
briefly.

"No one really explained what this 'list' was," Loutzenheiser said, "but
from the sound of it, if you raised anyone's eyebrows at the school -- for
any reason -- you made this 'list.'"

Jerry Klomparens, principal of Harbor Lights Middle School, told
WorldNetDaily he could not discuss cases or incidents involving specific
children. However, he spoke briefly about the school's "Mentor Program"
policies, and said they were only administered after school officials
obtained permission from a student's parents.

"We believe any educational processes must first come from parents,"
Klomparens said. "This program is only designed to help parents" meet
special needs of certain students.

The principal explained that Harbor Lights uses the mentoring program to
"match students who have particular interests up with teachers or adults
(who are volunteers) who have similar interests."

When asked about the so-called "list" that Loutzenheiser mentioned,
Klomparens reiterated that it was school policy "not to discuss the status
of our students." He also said it was possible that some errors may have
been made in the past in explaining the "mentor" program to some parents.

"It's not a real formal program," he said, adding that sometimes teachers
suggest students whom they believe would benefit from it. Other than having
mutual interests, Klomparens said neither teacher nor adult volunteer
mentors have received any special training or qualifications.

But the Loutzenheisers remain unconvinced.

"Each of these people on the 'team' probably had no issue with Derek, but by
virtue of assembling together and talking, they were able to feed upon each
others' concerns, no matter how small, and allowed them to grow," said Tim
Loutzenheiser. "We're convinced that Derek will now be placed under a
microscope for observation more than ever."

It's OK, what could have happened in eleven years ?

Everything is fine. Go back to your regularly scheduled PROGRAMMING.

"no fighting even in self defense""no fighting even in self defense""no fighting even in self defense""no fighting even in self defense""no fighting even in self defense""no fighting even in self defense"

Is that your fucking world ?

"Child sex book given out at U.N. summit
By George Archibald
THE WASHINGTON TIMES

NEW YORK — A UNICEF-funded book being passed out at the United Nations Child Summit encourages children to engage in sexual activities with other minors and with homosexuals and animals. ories

As the delegations to the summit remain deadlocked on abortion, international nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) that support the U.S. delegation's anti-abortion stance circulated copies of pages from a UNICEF-funded book given to delegates from Latin America that promotes sexual activity and abortion among teens in their countries.

"Reproductive health includes the following components: Counseling on sexuality, pregnancy, methods of contraception, abortion, infertility, infections and diseases," says the Spanish-language book, whose title translates to "Theoretic Elements for Working with Mothers and Pregnant Teens."

An accompanying workshop book produced by the U.N. Children's Fund (UNICEF) tells Latin American mothers and teens: "Situations in which you can obtain sexual pleasure: 1. Masturbation. 2. Sexual relations with a partner — whether heterosexual, homosexual, or bisexual. 3. A sexual response that is directed toward inanimate objects, animals, minors, non-consenting persons."

The book, which was distributed by the Mexican government with U.N. funding, suggests lesbian sex as an acceptable alternative for girls.

"Sexual relations with a partner: Here we should insist there is no ideal or perfect relations between two or several people," the book says. "The one that gives us the most satisfaction and that which is adopted to our way of being and the style of life we have chosen. This is why we encounter many differences among women. Some women like to have relations with men. And others with another woman."

UNICEF spokesman Alfred Ironside acknowledged U.N. funding for the book, but said it was produced by the Mexican government in 1999 and pulled from circulation "when the content was more carefully reviewed."

Mr. Ironside said he did not know how many of the books were circulated. "A very small number were produced — fewer than a thousand," he said. "It was pulled out of circulation when the content was more carefully reviewed."

"That book was a product of the Mexican government, supported by UNICEF financially as part of UNICEF's support to the Mexican government," Mr. Ironside said.

"We do everything we do in full agreement with the governments we support. We do not operate independently," he said.

He said the book was "intended as a training manual for people working with adolescent women to prevent teen pregnancy. That publication was a compilation of articles by different contributors and has a very clear disclaimer in the front that the views of the writers do not necessarily reflect the views of the United Nations."

The workshop book is being passed out by anti-abortion NGOs to persuade delegates from the large Latin American bloc of countries called the Rio Group to support the U.S. proposal to remove ambiguous language from the child-summit action document, which has been used in the past by U.N. agencies to promote abortion.

Delegations to the U.N. Child Summit remained deadlocked yesterday in closed-door negotiations over abortion and other hot-button issues that have held up final agreement on a U.N. action agenda to protect the world's children.

The U.S. delegation, praised by pro-family groups for standing firm to ensure the agenda does not sanction continued U.N. promotion of abortions, was attacked by NGO critics for a second day at an afternoon briefing, NGO members at the meeting said.

Douglas Sylva, an official with the Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute, called the briefing "an NGO feeding frenzy," in which the United States was attacked for its position on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict; arms sales to allies; the Bush administration's support of capital punishment; and U.S. failure to ratify the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child.

"The fact that the United States is the only country besides Somalia that has not ratified [the] child's rights [convention] is shocking," said Paula Daeppen, director in Zurich for the Federation of American Women's Clubs Overseas.

"We're supposed to be a moral leader of the world and child friendly," she said.

Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee, Texas Democrat, told the meeting she applauded the administration's work to protect children from pornography, exploitation and "child soldiering." But she said she disagreed with the U.S. delegation on some issues.

"There needs to be flexibility on life," she said — an apparent reference to the administration's strong anti-abortion stance. A person close to the congresswoman, who asked to remain anonymous, said her remarks were intended to urge "more flexibility on family planning."

Abortion is not mentioned directly in the draft child-summit document, but UNICEF, which organized the 187-country special session of the General Assembly, and the U.N. Fund for Population Activities, interpret the ambiguous phrase "reproductive health services" to include abortion.

A senior Canadian negotiator told delegates in earlier preparatory meetings that the term includes abortion, prompting the Bush administration to start pushing for the alternate term "reproductive health care."

European countries, with the exception of Spain, along with Canada, Japan and New Zealand oppose the U.S. position. Muslim nations and some African countries also support the United States.

The Rio Group, whose delegations say their predominantly Catholic populations don't condone abortion, said there is no danger the term "reproductive health services" will be used to promote abortions in Latin America.

Of course abortion should be legal, but is this right ? I don't think so.

"it is, so why the fuck not say so? "

Becasuse no matter what you fucking say and no matter how much I fucking agree, it is fucking wrong to push for teen pregnancy, or homosexuality. People must come to it on their own, just like kink.

This is one area where we do not want to really promote our ways, not that they're wrong, but if others, vanillas if you must, want to live their 1950s lifestyle with their white picket fence and the boy next door, they should be allowed to do so . Just as we should be allowed to do what we do.

OK, this is only eight years ago.

Vitamin B17, also known as laetrile and amygdalin, is another controversial "vitamin," as its source, the apricot kernel, becomes a focus of increasing interest. Laetrile is a nitriloside compound composed of four molecules: two sugar, one benzaldehyde, and one cyanide.

It is likely the cyanide that accounts for the controversy over this substance, particularly in regard to cancer therapy. Using laetrile-amygdalin, vitamin B17, nitriloside, whatever we call it-as a treatment for cancer is now illegal in the United States. Some people seeking such treatment go to Mexico or other laetrile-supportive countries.

Arguments against laetrile as a therapy cite concerns about possible cyanide toxicity as well as studies that show it is not effective as a cancer treatment. Studies, however, cannot be completely objective, especially on a subject as complex as cancer, which is influenced by so many factors. The proponents of laetrile claim that cyanide is a natural molecule found in food and is not toxic in normal doses; laetrile treatment itself is not known to have any side effects in usual dosages. But, obviously, considering Western medicine's use of chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery, side effects are not the main concern when treating a life-threatening disease. The proof in any treatment is, ultimately, whether it works.

Amygdalin is not digested in the stomach by hydrochloric acid, but passes into the small intestine where it is acted on by enzymes that split it into various compounds, which are then absorbed.

Sources: Laetrile is found primarily in apricot kernels and comprises about 23 percent of the kernel. It is also available in the kernels of other fruits, such as plums, cherries, peaches, nectarines, and apples. The fruit kernels or seeds generally have other nutrients as well-some protein, unsaturated fatty acids, and various minerals. B17 is not found with other B vitamins in yeasts. Many plants do, however, contain some B17, with the sprouting seeds, especially mung bean sprouts, containing the highest amount.

Functions: The specific theoretical function of laetrile is its effect on cancer cells. Normal cells have an enzyme, rhodanase, that inactivates the cyanide molecule of the laetrile compound. Cancer cells do not possess this enzyme. In fact, they have an enzyme, beta-glucosidase, that releases the cyanide, which then poisons the cancer cells.

Uses: The main use for laetrile is in the treatment of cancer, particularly to reduce tumor size and further spread, and to alleviate the sometimes severe pains of the cancerous process. As I stated, more well-designed research needs to be done to determine whether this compound in its natural form is effective. Other uses reported for laetrile have been in the treatment of high blood pressure and rheumatism.

Deficiency and toxicity: There are no known problems caused by not consuming this "vitamin," other than, theoretically, a deficiency could increase the likelihood of developing cancer. There are, however, concerns over toxicity, due to the cyanide within the vitamin or possibly from other metabolic effects. Usually, treatment amounts are limited to 1 gram to reduce potential side effects, which initially are most likely gastrointestinal in nature. Toxicity of this molecule must be researched further.

Requirements:This nutrient is not required as far as we know; in fact, it is against the law in the United States. When used, laetrile is administered at 2501,000 mg. (1 gram) daily. Higher amounts-up to 3 grams per day-have been used, but divided into several smaller dosages, each usually limited to 1 gram. If the source is whole apricot kernels, the quantity is usually about 1020 kernels per day; 12 cups of fresh mung bean sprouts may provide an equivalent amount. If apricot kernels are blended or pulverized, it is suggested that they be consumed immediately

For now, speculate on the content. I know it is not all that great but the source is disregarded at this time. Is the content going to kill you because you forgot all about this ? What if it did work ? If it didn't for sure, don't you think they wouldv'e told us ? Oh yeah they did. Was it butter or margarine that week ? And who the fuck are they to make a fucking vitamin illegal ?

"and that its alright if she wants to lick a cunt instead of sucking a cock? "

I agree completely, but to use tax dollars to do it is as wrong as using them to promote the Westboro Baptist Church. You can't have it both ways, that it's wrong for them but right for us.

It would be just as fucking wrong to pass out the Blue Book. Want some quotes from that ? You know I actually have a REAL copy of the Blue Book as well as The Turner Diaries. I have motherfucking books.

It wasn't wrong for those people to try to maintain their lifestyle any more than it is for us to attempt to do the same. Disagreeing shows your age, but not in the chronological sense. You could be 80 fucking years old and never have really matured. Live and let live means a fuck of alot more than people think.

i'm not sure they were pushing for anything, more like mentioning the fact that such things exist. They also mention that there's such a thing as sex with a non-consenting partner, and i don't think they're "pushing" for that, either.

However, they must have thought it could be misunderstood, which is why THEY PULLED IT. So i'm not sure what there is to argue about.

"THE GHOST FROM VALLEY FORGE
(Author unknown)

I had a dream the other night I didn't understand,
A figure walking through the mist, with flintlock in his hand.
His clothes were torn and dirty, as he stood there by my bed,
He took off his three-cornered hat, and speaking low he said:

"We fought a revolution to secure our liberty,
We wrote the Constitution, as a shield from tyranny.
For future generations, this legacy we gave,
In this, the land of the free and home of the brave.

The freedom we secured for you, we hoped you'd always keep,
But tyrants labored endlessly while your parents were asleep.
Your freedom gone - your courage lost - you're no more than a slave,
In this, the land of the free and the home of the brave.

You buy permits to travel, and permits to own a gun,
Permits to start a business, or to build a place for one.
On land that you believe you own, you pay a yearly rent,
Although you have no voice in choosing how the money's spent.

Your children must attend a school that doesn't educate,
Your moral values can't be taught, according to the state.
You read about the current "news" in a very biased press,
You pay a tax you do not owe, to please the IRS.

Your money is no longer made of silver or of gold,
You trade your wealth for paper, so life can be controlled.
You pay for crimes that make our Nation turn from God to shame,
You've taken Satin's number, as you've traded in your name.

You've given government control to those who do you harm,
So they can padlock churches, and steal the family farm.
And keep our country deep in debt, put men of God in jail,
Harass your fellow countryman while corrupted courts prevail.

Your public servants don't uphold the solemn oath they're sworn,
Your daughters visit doctors so children won't be born.
Your leaders ship artillery and guns to foreign shores,
And send your sons to slaughter, fighting other people's wars.

Can you regain your Freedom for which we fought and died?
Or don't you have the courage, or the faith to stand with pride?
Are there no more values for which you'll fight to save?
Or do you wish your children live in fear and be a slave?

Sons of the Republic, arise and take a stand!
Defend the Constitution, the Supreme Law of the Land!
Preserve our Republic, and each God-given right!
And pray to God to keep the torch of freedom burning bright!"

As I awoke he vanished, in the mist from whence he came,
His words were true, we are not free, and we have ourselves to blame.
For even now as tyrants trample each God-given right,
We only watch and tremble -- too afraid to stand and fight.

If he stood by your bedside in a dream while you're asleep,
And wonder what remains of your right he fought to keep.
What would be your answer if he called out from the grave?
Is this still the land of the free and home of the brave?"

I will not divulge the source of this, except to say that it was not me.

A complex issue for sure.

Now the kid about the guns, that one I resent the whole fucking thing. If there were armed security personell at Columbine, things would've gone different. If I were a teacher there, I maybe would've got the drop on a shooter, took his fucking gun and used it on him. No problem. I'm not suicidal, but sometimes you do get the chance. But if I had a gun I would've blown the punk's head off. And I would've slept quite well that night thank you. You have to understand how it is with me and kids. These fucking molesters and abusers, I don't want to cut their dick off, I want to cut their fucking arms and legs off. And once they're disabled I would have the ones they abused care for them. It would serve them right.

Maybe my whole point with this thread is for people to realize that the wrongs in this world didn't start yesterday. Man's inhumanity to Man is really the world's oldest profession. It has changed forms over time, but in my estimation, it really hasn't gotten any better or worse.

What we need is for people to change, and not everyone is going to change. I would like to be a separatist. Find a bunch of cool people, those who don't fuck people over and are at least honest with their friends and fellows. Trustable. Find some land somewhere and just get out of the ratrace. Get cows and pigs, chickens and horses, all that. Not a racial or religious separation, more a purely ideological one. That we have had enough. Like Gilligan's Island or something. (remember Wrongway Feldman, he wanted to get away)

I would miss the internet and all the nuts I meet on it. The TV doesn't matter. the few shows I watch come from the net. I can live without that, if I have reason. Let me give an example of reason Re Columbine. If someone is shooting people, when you shoot them they do not shoot anymore people. Just thinking like that is considered something of note ? To flag someone because they expressed something so simply logical ? Stop this planet, I want to get off.

And then making vitamin B17 illegal. Sure, this is working. And the schools that don't teach. You know most of them don't.

And it never ends. And we wonder why. No more, some people are just motherfuckers and that's what we have to realize. If a couple of hundred of us got together and bought some land out west, built a community and lived happily, I bet we would become a target.

I have been dismayed at the state of affairs in the US for a long fucking time now. I already knew too much twenty years ago. But the fact is, anywhere I would want to go from here, I can't afford. Sure I could sell out, get a passport and a ticket for a plane, but what happens when the money runs out ?

I, like many Americans, have become too soft. I am fifty years old, and while I can and am actually getting healthier, there is a limit. I can't work out in the sun for sixteen hours a day. Do I need to ? All I need is a beater car, not a new Caddilac. I don't need a golf course in the front yard nor a swimming pool out back. I used to want these things somewhat, and at times had them. But I don't miss them. A simpler life would be nice. I don't need concerts and football games. Even music, I have just about EVERYTHING I want, but I am not playing it right now. If I need music, well I have a couple of guitars. Just have to practice up a bit.

I was born in 1960, and I see how "good" it was around then. I wonder how much better it was before. Individualism was praised and encouraged. Invention was not stifled and education did not consist of memorization, well sometimes. It wasn't perfect and I make no pretense that it was, but I still think it was better.

T^T
