Actually, through his allowing the debt to reach current unsustainable levels O'Bummer is ushering in a new age of austerity that ironically enough will in all likelihood roll back the progressive disease that O'Bummer claims to champion

Whether its intentional or not on his part, I dont know.

Some say it is

He didn't "allow" it.

The economy has steadily gotten worse for decades.  Under Clinton, the dot-com bubble obscured it.  Under Bush II, the RE bubble obscured it to a degree.  In the last few months of Bush II and under Obama, there was an attempt to use the public debt to shore up the RE bubble, but we've run out of bubbles and are hurting.

Youre right, he didnt "allow it". He directly caused 35% growth in it.

And the dot-com bubble was not enough to obscure the real growth that occurred during Clinton's early years and Bush Srs..thanks to Reagan's policies, as evidenced by the shallowness of the Clinton recession, despite 9/11.

You're hardly in any position to complain Willbur. You've just been caught red-handed making demonstrably false allegations and nasty accusations aqainst me on another thread* - specifically you accused me of being a "liar" and even when proved totally wrong you refuse to apologise.

If you want to have decent standards, try keeping to them yourself before pointing fingers at any one else.

Um, you seem to have forgotten that Clinton beat Bush senior solely by running on how putrid the economy was then. (Remember the phrase "it's the economy, stupid" to keep on message?)  Although, that economy looks like a champ compared to Bush II/Obama.

In fact the economy wasnt putrid at all. It was a very mild recession that happened to hit during the election season, and pencil neck Carville got a sound bite out of it. GDP growth during GHWB's Presidency averaged 3.6% per year under total Dem control of both houses, during Clintons it was 5.5% most of which was under GOP control of both houses.

http://www.addictinginfo.org/2011/07/27/tea-party-dying-out/

As the manufactured debt crisis continues to be dominated by radical Tea Party politicians, it is becoming clear that the actual Tea Party supporters and members are rapidly declining in numbers and power. In Washington DC, the “American Grassroots Coalition” organized a rally with some right-wing heavy hitters like Presidential candidate Herman Cain, Sens. Jim DeMint of South Carolina, Rand Paul of Kentucky and Mike Lee of Utah. It has the making of a “big moment” for the movement. With its obsessive focus on cutting the budget no matter the damage, holding the country hostage to the debt ceiling should be a perfect time for their ideology.

But across the country, evidence is mounting that the tea party is fizzling out and today is no different. The politicians began to look nervous on capitol hill when they showed up to a groundswell of 15 silent members standing around. As the facade began, reports note that no more than 50 people were in attendance. Coupled with similar results recently, including the embarrassing dozen-strong at a Nikki Haley event in Tea party owned South Carolina, I think it’s safe to say that people are either beginning to figure out the mess they voted for last November or the corporate funds seem to have been diverted somewhere more sinister"

Still can't believe we talk as if it is an actual Political Party. Teabaggers are Republicans, Republicans are teabaggers....

I'll give you 3:1 on the first, even money on the second, and take 8:5 on the third.

I am sure that will prove correct as every other thing you've thrown out.

Remember when you were offering bets at "3 to 1" that the person in Norway was a Muslim?

What's with all of the odds and bets lately?  Do you have a gambling problem?

No, you put up or shut up. You're the one making claims here, not O59, so the onus of proof is on you. Prove that you're not farting through your teeth (bear in mind that you'll have to demonstrate that the name on the discharge paperwork is one that you can lay claim to), and maybe we can talk about setting up a tips jar for you on paypal after you've produced some evidence that you actually served in Vietnam.
(As things stand, your claims to be an ex serviceman are even less convincing than gatorboy's, which is no mean feat.)
