Would any of the Mistresses here have a suggestion on where I might connect with an experienced, enthusiastic female Rope Top? I'm not really a sub, and some Dommes don't grasp the difference between a sub and a bottom.

Hi.

Everybody has a different opinion on what sub, bottom and slave is, so it helps if you explain what it means to you. I'm just happy when someone likes to submit to me. I'm not picky about what he wants to call himself.

With that sentence you completely missed the point, to a degree that's almost impressive. Well done.

OP, I know a few women who are just interested in rope topping during a scene, so they definitely exist. You might find that they're s-types of some description who just like the logic of knots, or that they're d-types who separate out rope from dominance in their heads.

In London there's an event called Peer Rope, which is specifically and only about tying people up. Is there a similar event in your area? If not, just network at munches and be absolutely specific about what you're looking for. Someone'll know someone. But there isn't a specific online resource that I know of for rope lovers, I'm afraid.

VC, you just got to love the folks that are here to plug their business.

Some areas are large enough to have specific groups that get together for rope. With your location, you'll be able to find plenty of demos on rope where you can meet people, OP. If you're in luck, you'll find some demos that will include a 'hands on' portion of the class . (They usually tell folks to bring their rope to try out what is being presented.) In such a major city, you won't have trouble finding rope enthusiasts at all.

It's a matter of taking the time to connect with the right people. For example, you emailed me and were clear about being a bottom to a potential top. I'm glad you were about to articulate your needs....but why you made that request to someone whose profile says she's looking for a live in slave is a little baffling, yeah?

When you're looking for someone to engage in a very specific activity with you, you narrow your options down to finding someone who is also only looking for that specific activity. If you're JUST looking for a rope top, you might want find a prodomme that's proficient - get what you need, compensate for her time, and off you go. If you're looking for more - companionship, a relationship, what have you - make sure you also put that out there as part of the package that you bring to the table.

To my knowledge, there isn't a rope-specific group around Philly (but freely admit that I don't keep up with everything in the local scene). Check out TES in NYC though - it's a reasonable train ride up there and they have lots of special interest groups.
