I just read this really long introduction and I got to thinking "Omg this is really long." So that got me thinking which do I prefer short introductions that are quick and to the point or really long ones that detail the persons life story?
P.S. Appologies if I have offended anyone.

Depend on if it's well written and doesn't appear as a wall'o'text.  Short and to the point is nice as long as it's nothing but a kink fest.  Same for the long ones.

Neither extreme.

I don't like "Hi."  Nor do I like a fifteen volume compendium.  I like one to three paragraphs that convey a sense of the poster.

The Mister's introductory note was one short paragraph.  It was inviting enough to warrant a reply from me.  We used that as our starting point, and over 2 years later, are still learning each others life stories.

For me, I prefer sort of in-between lengths; but, a lot of whether I like a long one has to do with how well it is written and if they remembered to use paragraphs. With short ones, it is mainly, how succinct they are. Some people can pack a powerful lot of information in a few short sentences, and, it is a thing of beauty.

I met my partner through this site, and his introduction was just wonderful. It actually made me gasp with how informative, honest and genuine it sounded, without being too long or too short. Of course, as I had never been made to gasp with an introduction before, I just had to find out more about this intriguing man, and in November it will have been a blissful two years that we have been a couple, so it goes to show that introductions are very important if you're looking for that special someone.
