I didn't read your link since I'd already read a couple of others along the same vein.

It's bullshit. Dems can get as angry as they want. Who the fuck are the going to vote for?

A Republican?

Yeah right.

Nope, but they can vote for nobody, and a drop in turnout is as big a problem for O'blivious as a shift in the indie vote.

I agree on the indie vote. I think that's where elections succeed or fail most of the time. As far as die-hard dems go though, I've seen lots of them qualifying their anger with Mr. President with words like, I'll vote for you rather than let a republican in but I hate... pick a topic. They always hate something even though they say they don't.

They talk about it but when it gets to 11/6 will they show up? The youth vote is bound to be disillusioned and drop. The Hispanic vote will drop unless he does something more tangible than speechify to La Raza. The Jewish vote, critical especially in Fla, will either shift or be less enthusiastic.

Combine that with redistricting/reapportionment of electoral votes away from the big Blue states and a definitie shift in the indie vote and even $1 billion in campaign spending might not be enough. As I said in the debt ceiling thread, its ironic that the tea party might be his biggest ally right now, if the economy reacts favorably to deficit reduction he has a shot. If the economy stays the same or gets worse then its all over except the concession speech. ("I regret that I will not 4 more years to help drive the bus out of the ditch that George Bush drove it into") Blah blah blah.

Except for all the unfunded mandate for education, the 2 WARS, medicaid part D, gee everything they are talking about creating the debt.

Bush left over 9 trillion in unpaid bills from his time in office.  Or don't you recall the 7 times they raised the debt ceiling while never once asking for cuts in spending.

But truth is a hard pill to swallow

I assume that was just shorthand for "the Democratic Congress during Bush's administration left over 9 trillion in unpaid bills". and of course "From his time in office" is bullshit anyway. The bulk of the debt increase during his tenure was from legislation passed long before he came along and interest on existing debt. The debt under Obamas first 4 years (including the stimulus that is recorded in Bush's last fiscal year) is projected to grow more than it did in all 8 years under Bush.

But why let facts get in the way of partisan snipe.
