ORIGINAL: MusicalBoredom I'm not a fan of inflammatory comments from news people or from people in a public office. So I think they were wrong to do so. I should point out that I would be considered a liberal by most. I don't think, however, that Republicans are always wrong and that Democrats are always right. I don't suffer from "one-true-way-ism". I find it odd that in this particular forum, where people tend to feel that individuals should be able to form their own opinions and that there is no one "true way", are so hung up in their opinion being the only right one when it comes to politics and economics. It's simple MB, the idealist are the only fascists of thought. It doesn't matter if you have an R or D next to your name, you are not a defender of liberty if you cannot tolerate (you don't have to accept it) anyone else's point of view. But despite all that, you would probably find that some of these "one-true-way-ism" people, as you put it, are also somewhat militant about certain lifestyle choices, even when it comes to the lifestyle (Unless they are just forum trolls). The saddest thing is that there is a media that would report any of these inflammatory comments without excoriating the individuals making them. While I understand no person or organization can be completely objective, the media, as a whole, has just given up even trying.
