no I paid nothing outside my income tax to get excellent care four weeks ago, I put into the fund I got out just what I needed, without consulting an insurance company without consulting a lawyer and without any paperwork. We dont have food stamps, housing? you dont have public housing? what?

I didn't read your whole post because it was stupidity from the start.  There is a debt chart that was published on Sunday by that bastion of liberal thinking, The Associated Press, the tracks the debt and the impact on the national debt from '81 to the present.  Our man-child, socialist scumbag of a president has increased our national debt more in 30 months than any president in our nation's history except for maybe FDR.  Also, our man-child, piece of shit president had a hand in the mortgage crisis as well as he received kick backs from Fannie Mae to do their cheerleading.

Ill answer the question, may not be the same answer as locked's. Ask yourself 2 questions whenever considering government funding:

Is there an overwhelming public benefit, or is it primarily individual?
Is there a significant free-loader problem...or will it voluntarily be paid for by those who dont see a direct benefit?


If it is a public benefit AND has a free loader problem then government involvement is appropriate. Otherwise not.

Education meets both; roads met both before there was an interstate system, not so much anymore; police and defense obv.

On the other side ...Health care..not, the benefit is primarily individual and there is minimal free-loader problem.
