If cheating on their spouse will get one fired, there wouldn't be many judges left in my county, and not that many lawyers either. Just to clarify, I am responding to a comment by Lafayettelady, but my IPad makes it very hard to use quotes.

Can't quote on my phone either. While it is certainly stretching it to say all judges and lawyers cheat, it doesn't negate the fact that they can be fired or sanctioned for conduct unbecoming. A judge in Florida Was caught not only viewing porn at his workplace, he was on the bench doing it while cases were being presented! He wasn't fired and niether has the chancellor. Both, however, suffered humiliation for their acts. Many of the photos on this site are pornographic. Employers often frown on people using company computers for non work related web searching and email. Why should anyone feel they have a right to look at porn on company time? If they found nude photos of him and his girlfriend on his work computer, it would have looked as bad. For those of you saying the computer was in his home, there is a good chance his home and home computer were perks that came with the job, so while he may not be limited in his use of those things, the school, as his employer could have some say over any activities he engaged in that they feel would lessen the school's reputation. I didn't see any mention of school computers or pic files on work computers. What I did see is that computers etc were seized from the office. I have to wonder if, like many of us, this man brought his personal laptop or netbook (that he paid for) to work with him to hit the net at lunchtime or when he was on break while working late. If so, then it was probably seized simply because it was in the office when the search warrant was executed. That said, the warrant executed by ICE had to do with illegal immigration, and I would really like to know just how in the hell that has anything to do with the fact that this guy is kinky. It seems to me that the information was leaked to TSG by a gov't agency, and for no other reason than to ruin the man.

Could it not be that he was caught up in an investigation and word got around and somebody who previously came across his profile and picture and had a grudge (you don't become Chancellor of a university without pissing a few people off and academics aren't much nicer than other people - in his job he also might have made a few enemies just doing his job) and they used the chance - kind of "kick him while he's down" thing. Needless to say that I think his kink has nothing to do with how he does his job, as long as he doesn't approach people he works with in an inappropriate way, but I do think the scandal could have been avoided if he would not have shown his face.

Sure, but you can wear a mask, have your face in the shadow, distort it a bit, all that, and send a normal face picture in a PM. You can also put a picture up you took of something and that you feel expresses you somewhat and state that you will send one after you feel comfortable. Why do you think I got a picture with a mask up? Because somebody won't respond without a picture doesn't mean you have to post it, if on another site somebody says you have to post your bank statements, would you do it?

I didn't assume, I said it was possible. There is a big difference there. It is commonplace at large universities that the upper management (dean, chancellor) are provided housing as part of their contract, often even furnished. To be clear, suggesting something is possible is a far cry from making the assumption it is happening.

As LC stated, if it were his personal computer, it was seized as part of the whole raid. Another thing I didn't see was anything stating that Immigration actually released the information. Again, I agree with LC that he likely pissed someone off and they happened to find the information on his computer and leaked it to the SmokingGun. No matter how it happened, the guy doesn't have a leg to stand on for libel, since he did do it. The university has not asked for his resignation, but he will probably turn one in. In my opinion, I don't care if he was just looking at "ordinary porn" and had tons of it on a work computer, it doesn't belong there. For me, it has nothing to do with him and his girlfriend's desire to have a poly D/s relationship, but where he was conducting his search that is the problem.

He might not have looked at it during work hours, it was just stupid to have a picture of his full face up, from a certain point in your career on you will have made enemies, even if you played by the rules and did everything by the book, you might have been better than somebody else, you might not have bent the rules for somebody who thought they deserve to have the rules bent, you got promoted and somebody else wanted the job... He's in a public position and people will go a long way to exploit it - look at Max Mosley...

If you put it on the net, you are letting everyone know your business. If a person is in a position (pardon the pun) not to care who knows and wants to be totally "out," it's all good. A high percentage of women want pictures and almost all men want pictures. It's also not possible for me to post them for similar reasons, mainly don't post anything on the internet you don't want your mother or a judge to see later. I don't think posting pictures of flowers, a sunset etc. qualifies as showing what you are like, its a waste of time. BTW I have been wondering if that Sydney University thing is some kind of practical joke that someone is laughing about starting now.
