This term has been made popular after Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.) described the debt bill as a “Satan Sandwich”.

I found a cute Capital Hill/Fish bowl article, that has a variety of people describing what they want on their "Satan's Sandwich".

"So What's In Your Satan's Sandwich"?

I am not going to just order a satan's sandwich, I am going to have the satan's blue plate special.

A big fat vegetarian burger, topped with tears from the long term unemployed, because the powers that be have not figured out how to create jobs.

A side order of onion rings, topped with more people in the soup lines, shelters, and on the streets.

I would like a large ceasar salad, topped off with croutons from the behinds of all the people that will have to declare bankruptcy over an illness or medical bills.

For desert, I will take a slice of tiramisu covered with pieces of human hearts that are breaking as they watch what was once a fairly good country, go down the drain.

What is on your "satan's sandwich", or do you want a blue plate special?

Maybe its just me, but wouldnt a Satan's Sandwich or blue plate special be different for everyone?

As sad as your contibution was, at least you participated.
No one here wants to make a satan sandwich/blue plate special, but damned if most won't be eating one~

Here is a sandwich just for willbe: Freshly baked bread with your favorite meat and fixings on it, topped off with Democratic President's in the USA, for the rest of your life.

You will also get a side order of salad topped with the re-election of President Obama.

For dessert, you will be hog-tied naked to a bed, and be forced to look at and listen to President Obama's speeches non-stop for 72 hours.

Actually, tazzy, you graciously took your punishment plus a couple of weeks extra (but sadly, you don't get to "bank" that for the future

).

It looks like we had a glitch or operator error, who knows, in that the last two people to come off moderation didn't REALLY come off. When tazzy notified me, I fixed it immediately.

Our apologies to you and to the other person (who I have written to directly, but won't "out" here).

If government spending were good for the economy our economy would be booming right now because government spending is at an all time high

But think about this - theyve certainly figured out how to eliminate jobs

And theyre working overtime towards accomplishing that end, even if they seem to mean well while theyre doing it

You are right Sanity. We should not have spent a dime. We should have allowed the banks to go under. We should have turned away the car companies. Too big to fail should have never become a catch phrase.

Then everything would be all better now.

The banks would not have gone under and the car companies would not have failed. You are right...there is no such thing as too big to fail, and we blew it. That is inconsistent with the rest of your post.
