ORIGINAL: siano1967 that makes it #13--or higher--and counting... Really not too pleased with the lack of notice...or at least note of site maintenance... grrrrr... it, too, was really scared/freaked out that someone had hacked into its account a MASSIVE apology would be in order, itthinks... : ) cmon its relatively easy for any site to go down i used to work on server redundancy even got server + and even with the best will in the world things will go wrong This reminds me of a time in the late 80's when I worked in a hospital that finally came out of the dark ages & went up on a computer system. After the first day, I asked my boss about downtime procedures. She said to me, "We don't need any downtime procedures." I said, "Really? Why do you think that?" And she actually said, with a completely straight face, "They told us the system would never go down." I managed to back out of her office before falling down & rolling on the floor laughing my ass off. Of course, it went down & was down for 5 business days, during which I wrote & implemented the downtime procedures. But they wouldn't allow me to input all the data when the system came back up & the person who did it didn't understand computers at all, so 2 years later, they were still finding shit that was wrong. I had thought that somehow people had gotten smarter in the last 20 years. *sigh*
