I read that some Doms do this so I was just curious as to how many actually do make meal plans, control food portions, or even calorie intake?

When I worked as a pro-domme I did on occasion cut food intake...but I didn't like putting myself to high up on their heirarchy... However my master only allows me to eat plain white rice after dinner with nothing on the rice. He did that because I was self concious about gaining a few pounds and it worked I lost the weight. I think if your using your meal plan to improve the health of the submissive it is a good thing but I don't like for it to be used to create a dependency such as you can only have water if your master/mistress gives it to you...I don't know why that form of food restriction bothers me but it does..xoxo

The Mister doesn't.  He'll say what he'd like for dinner, and if it's not very healthy I'll suggest an alternative, to which he usually agrees.

I've been on a weight loss plan (of my own doing, prior to meeting him) and have a pretty strong handle on what I can/can't eat, and what might trigger my unhealthy eating issues versus what types of healthy foods keep me full longer and promote continued weight loss.  He won't tinker with that - why change what's working, after all. I actually influence his eating, and he has also lost weight as a result.

I always hope dominants/masters who choose to control food intake do their homework, first, on nutrition, various diets, what's healthy, what isn't, and what works/doesn't work for their particular submissive/slave. I think all too often s-types are put on food plans that don't actually help them, and then beat themselves up for failing.

Fuck, who has time for that shit? I barely know what I'm going to eat on a day-to-day basis.

He doesn't go as far as giving me meal plans, but I am expected to eat healthily and improve my fitness. I asked him for help in my aim to lose weight, and he's accepted that responsibility.

So I decide on my meals, some foods are completely forbidden and every month we discuss my weight loss and fitness levels. I find it very positive and hopefully when I'm back down to my ideal weight he will help me to stay there

He doesn't give me a meal plan, but he does tell me what he wants for dinner and he does order my food when we're out.
I don't even look at the menu.
I also weigh in every morning for him.

I make the meal plan in the house.  I figure if I am the one shopping for the food (we do almost all farmer's markets and local butchers and dairies so the menu can change based on what is good that day), preparing it and cleaning up after it then I get to choose.  That and I am on Weight Watchers, Husband seems to think that WW = low carb, but that's just not the case.
Husband is usually happy with what I prepare, I didn't go to cooking school all those years ago for nothing!

Leave it to him and he would eat unhealthily. He would never think of buying vegetables.

He doesn't make a meal plan but he expects me to eat healthy and trusts me to make sure that happens. If he sees I'm not eating in such a manner or that I'm not reaching my goal weight then he'll start questioning me and makes sure I get back on track.

omg this is so true in my house.  He thinks that "eating healthy" is "The Atkins Diet", which he never actually researched, just heard that it was all meat and no carbs.  I couldn't eat that way if I had to!
If he planned the meals we would be eating all steak and bun-less hamburgers with no fruits or veggies!
Our food budget would go through the roof!

I do as needed. Originally the meal plans I drew up were very detailed. As she got the drift though it was simpler just to provide caloric budgets and exercise goals and let her work out what she wanted to eat/cook/do within those boundaries.

This is largely a thing which happens when I'm either wanting to slim her down or, more rarely, add more calories into the diet as a stress mitigation strategy. If we are at a stable place with health & appearance then there's no need for me to be dictating things. She can do "steady as she goes" just fine all by herself.

If a person is in my control and they seem to be unable to make intelligent food and beverage choices, I will demand, and expect, changes be made.

Master doesn't generally control my food intake, he will of course instruct me when he wants a specific meal, but overall it's generally up to me to handle the food. When we go out Master allows me to order for myself, unless it's a joint appatizer, then I generally divert to him, but it's not a hard or fast rule. Master expects me to maintain my physical fitness, and health...if there ever were (there hasn't been yet) an issue I am sure Master would tell me...

I plan the meals in our household. It's something he generally doesn't wish to be bothered with unless there's something specific he wants. (Honestly, I went on a business trip and he ate fast food three times a day even though I had pre-made meals for him)

When we go out, I'll tell him the things I'm interested in and he'll place my order for me.

No, although she was required to submit a food log to me, and I would critique her choices, in the interest of guiding her away from junk food and getting her used to thinking in terms of eating healthily.

But if I had an already health-conscious sub or slave, I wouldn't bother.

Ditto. Grabbing a sandwich at a local greasy spoon or fast food restaurant on the way to work is so much easier than trying to cook a meal after I'd been busy with housework and such all morning. Bad habits are hard to break.
