I doubt they will go for real.

But imagine how hard it can be to re-enter the US.   Even for a citizen.  I got grilled any time I was away coming back...  surely they are on some type of "list".    Not only that- think of the points that an agency would score by a scene.

They will also find the experience very unsatisfying as in Norway picketing is not considered a part of freedom of speech, you can say what you want in a newspaper or online, but picketing is considered an demonstration and that have to be cleared by the police first, also the police can stop any demonstration they considers in danger of riling up trouble, so they can come here and try picketing and they would be arrested.

In edition Norway is not in a good mood right now, if anyone came to one of those funeral spreading the type of hate that this Church do then they would probably be leaving with black eyes, broken bones and their picket signs up their asses, and in the current climate I think the police might bury the paperwork somewhere dark when it comes to the assault charges. Like the police said, it would be a very, very bad idea for this Church to follow up on their plans.

The natives of the Americas have put up with this type of European cultural group for quite a while, it is only fair for you see what your Anglo-Saxon cousins (the Baptists came from England in the 1700s) acting in the name of the European Christian god have inflicted on us and the rest of the world on a regular basis for centuries, first hand.

nephandi.. what is the parole situation like there? for things like WBC, they'd likely be imprisoned a month or less (IF we could even find a statute to use to lock them up at all) here.. would Norway keep them under lock and key for longer? I do like the psych ward aspect. *grin*

I am not a legal expert, however according to Aswad there are law paragraphs that could be used to lock our sign wielding friends up for quite some time, but you would have to ask him about that, however there is little chance they would use those laws, one could hope though. :P

Maybe they are now avenging these earlier Norwegian outrages by sending this crew of Anglo-Saxon Baptists to your lands. Perhaps Norway should attend the funerals in Viking apparel to remind them of certain things.

Honestly I really doubt they have any real plans of going, because of what you mention here.  They are pretty well known for knowing the laws and their rights and I am sure they know that they'd have issues over there.  However, the press they are getting in the US and possibly around the world simply because they consider going just spreads their word farther and angers people and does exactly what they want to do.

I am thinking more about meeting them at the airport, in Viking clothes including swords and axes. :P Not to do violence off course, though if a few of the WBC folks thought you would cleave them in two that could not hurt. :P

I think you are right about that, as the funerals is well underway so if they had plans to picket them they would already be here.

I imagine it would be as effective to go with my suggestion of assigning contingency units for security. It sends a pretty clear message to the would-be disruptive elements to have a masked guard with no identifying marks and no insignia, geared up for a war and carrying his own sign that says "I carried these bodies off the island. Don't make me carry you off the premises."

Of course, the most permanent solution would be to have no guards.

In this climate, they will be buried by the people here if they turn up.
