It is a standard data set question - if this email address had been used previously to communicate with those that store and monetize email addresses and that email address has ever been linked to a physical address or a physical person then it is relatively trivial to obtain the possible physical address(es) linked to the email address.

Tracking an email to a physical address depends on the individual's web presence.

Do you have public information linked to your physical address? BTW, that was part of the problem that resulted in a class action suit against www.classmates.com a while back.

Try googling the email address and see what you find.

While Spokeo has me from two addresses ago, I'm still creeped out. Thanks for mentioning this.

To anyone not familiar w Spokeo, to remove info from it (which will not remove it from the original site), do a search for your name and your email address(es) and paste them into the Removing Your Listing from Spokeo on their privacy page http://www.spokeo.com/privacy
