Hear hear...the cooks and bartenders rule!  Cooking is so much
fun, especially when the meal is served by semi-nude slaves
 of both genders.

As for the bugs out in the Mid-West?  I flew out that way to
visit some relatives and during the evening, wondered what
was that metallic "shshshshshshsss" sound coming from all around.
Then realized it was coming from the trees!  I'm a California
girl; thought that sound was some sort of fancy car alarm.

I draw the line at eating bugs!! I do however cook a mean  egg, sausage and potato breakfast in a cast iron pan over a fire...and my campfire chili is wicked good also.

You can select more than one answer. This poll is being made to get an idea of the interest level to organize a meet & greet of collarme members.

I would meet ...

I picked Vegas, but in reality it could be held anywhere in this country or the Virgin Islands and I would make it. Distance of any sort, is not a barrier for me. My only problem would be the Holidays, between Thanksgiving and Christmas - They're very busy for me.

Good Morning Vendaval! Thank you for my first outright laughter of the day (the bugs) I live near a river and omg the mosquitoes in the evening!! They are huge and very thirsty, I swear you can hear them, I have refered to them as B52 bombers. Screened porches or lots of bugspray is a must to enjoy the outdoors.

As far as cooking and bartending......my camping has evolved over the years. Used to be a small tent or if I was really uptown a cot in the horse trailer, campfire cooking which I still love and ice chests with constant trips for more ice. Now I am looking for another (had one briefly ) camper trailer with hot/cold running water and a generator, very important for the margarita blender!!! Also, on those hot humid Iowa nights a little ac wafting over my hormonal self is just pure heaven. I am trying to buy an old building in a small town near here but if that falls thru I am determined to reward myself with two things, the HD and an old airstream (the silver bullet ones) camper trailer. We shall see which is meant to be.

LaTigresse, toss together a bunch of sparrow houses, make sure the openings are too small for starlings. I can send you some plans that makes a huge sparrow house out of 2 4x8 sheets of plywood and 1x4's. It is a big 4x8 sparrow house with dozens of nests that you can hang on the side of your barn. If you staple hemp rope around it and sprinkle sulfur around the ground you wont have to worry about snakes invading.

Yup!  And those damned chiggers.  I live by a creek but
thankfully there are tons of frogs eating the mosquitos.
I actually enjoy their singing at night.

You really know how to make camping comforable and that is
great!  Have you tried Craigslist.org for RV's?  You just go to
the main Web-site and pick the closest city and the category.

And I am so there with you on the cooking and the bar-tending.

Blessed Be,

Vendaval
