The above article describes judge redden's decision last week regarding the biological opinion for the operation of the Columbia river power system. While allowing the dams to continue to operate, he is requiring the agencies to at least explore the option of removing dams now, instead of waiting 10 years when the salmon species may be impossible to save from extinction.
