stJimmy -> Deleting your account (8/8/2011 11:58:54 AM)

My girlfriend just deleted her account because she got a load of abuse frankly cuz she was using my amazon for a wishlist so it came up with my name, but anyway she couldn't be arsed reading all the 58 messages she got in 5 mins either :')

But she deleted her account, can't get back into it yet it hasn't gone from the search- you can still view it. How can that be rectified?

Thanks guys.

btw.. given its a username issue.. this is NOT the side to address the issue. it must be dnoe from the other side.

Mostly, it can't be. Believe me, I've left this site in disgust, many times, and, there are still several "deleted" accounts around to prove it!
The same jerks that most disgusted me, like to point them out to people and tell them how I must be fake or crazy, because, they say, that doesn't happen. Allegedly, if you request an account be deleted in the properly prescribed manner, it just gets deleted.

Thank you for proving the bitches wrong!

well, if you would actually follow the directives for having the acct deleted, it WOULD be.

I think you should replace would with could, it might make more sense ;)

first, it will take a little time to disappear from the search, because it's still in the database, it should go away when the search database is refreshed.

as to killing an account, here's a procedure that i followed when i deleted my old one that works really fucking well.
1. hide the profile
2. block all incoming mail
3. delete all mail, sent and received
4. delete the profile
5. close the account.

works like a fucking charm.

Don't keep signing in to see if it's still there. Everytime you access it, it keeps it going longer. Wait a couple of weeks instead.;
