I'm curious. Does anyone here think she would be an excellent President, on her own merits, not just "better than Obama"?

She has said her husband directed her to study tax law, and she obliged because “the Lord says: be submissive, wives; you are to be submissive to your husbands.” Asked about her choice of words, she explains, “That means that I respect my husband, and he respects me.” But in a Bachmann White House, she adds, “I would be the decision maker.”

Not surprising she will pick and choose her fundamentalism when it's convenient. I mean she's all over "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination," but apparently can't be bothered with "I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes." No...no !! She will do just as Newt and the rest. They'll employ a few people, travel to the primary states, get their butts kicked by Romney, the Al Gore of corporatists...and go home. Romney has too much agreeable history and all of that free-speech [sic] in the bank. Oh and he is the top of the heap of (2) adults in the race.

She did not earn my vote as congresswoman (I didn't live in MN when she was a Senator) and she won't be earning it in a bid for president. I do applaud the attempt though. Not everyone is willing to put themselves on the line, expose every aspect of their character, their finances and their past, so kudos for running but I don't want her to win the republican nod. I'd like to see an actual viable candidate who would be 'good' for this country as a whole rather than just a select few.

Support her as in, think she'd make an awesome President? No, not by a long shot. Better than Obama? We'll see if we reach that point, and how the pressures of a campaign shape her. Support her in the case of people who wish to joke and laugh about having "angry sex" with someone they don't know and hate anyway? (It seems like we have a word for that activity...) Yeah, I'll give her that much. It seems the like the folks who normally care about that kind of thing are distracted elsewhere these days.

Her raising of 23 foster kids is amazing all by it self. She is one of the few conservatives that didn`t just pay lip service to our unwanted child problem.She(and her family) actually sacrificed and did something about it,times 23. That is so positive and giving it`s beyond words. The good things that she made possible and possibly keeping a lot of really bad things from happening to those youngsters,is priceless. I wish more people would step up and do more like she did and not just pretend that being/voting pro-life makes you morally superior. As she debates and isn`t allowed to skate on tough questions,her Palin-like qualities will come out,especially "the MSM hates me,I`m a victim,vote for me" act. She`ll do ok with tea-baggers and con-fundies but not the cons who want a winner. Cons aren`t very happy with their field right now. Certianly no "gipper" excitement with any of them. If there was,we`d a heard about it by now.

While I can understand why some political conservatives might support her for President, I cannot understand why any *kinky* political conservatives would support her for President. She belongs to a Christian Reconstructionist/Dominionist group that split away from the Lutheran Church - Christian Reconstructionists/Dominionists who would criminalize almost every BDSM activity between two consenting individuals, with the majority of those "criminal" activities being "punished" by the death penalty. Want to see a day when a Domme found to have flogged her submissive husband in the privacy of their own home gets stoned to death on live TV? Elect enough Christian Reconstructionists/Dominionists like Bachmann to give them control of the Congress and/or the White House.

If I have said it once, I will say it a thousand times. Unless the Republicans can somehow move a non-bible thumper pragmatist through the primaries, there is no hope for a sane reasonable candidate in the 2012 election. Everyone get ready to hold your nose and vote.......
