Termyn8or -> Dirty words ? (8/8/2011 11:24:24 PM)

Why are cusswords cusswords ? WTF is wrong with them. You call someone a cocksucker, hold on here, alot of us guys do enjoy a decent blow job. No cocksuckers - no blowjobs.

OK now we have the motherfuckers. Now guys, if you ever fucked a Woman who had even one kid, you are a motherfucker. I think there are some dumb hicks somewhere who think it means fuck YOUR Mother, but that's not what it says. Nothing of the sort.

Then we got son of a bitch. You know how rarely that is actually addressed to someone. It's used many times when noone is around to hear it, like when you smash your motherfucking thumb with that cocksucking hammer. The son of a bitch hurts.

Then we got goddamn. Now I can't motherfucking prove it, but I'll bet that some cocksucking Atheists out there use the term goddamn. Who the fuck are they talking about ?

And, someone in here must be an English teacher, in the previous sentence, what is the term for the words "the fuck" contained therein ? They're in quotes now because I really didn't put them in this sentence, even though I did.

Now, being from a family of extremely proficient cussers I have noticed something. Sometimes people will say "Watch your motherfucking mouth". That makes no fucking sense at all, it should be cocksucking mouth, wouldn'tya think ?

I'm sure someone around here has something to add. Maybe their name starts with "H" ? Never fucking know.

T^T

Because they invoke a strong negative emotion in the listener.

I've posted before that I adhere to the Lenny Bruce school of thought about "bad words": if you say them enough, they start to become fairly meaningless.

AcademyForSlaves -> RE: Dirty words ? (8/12/2011 9:06:48 PM)

"Cunt" is always a bit harsh and insulting. I have not met any woman who likes being called that. For men, I have not met any man who is not hurt by being called an "asshole". Typically when someone is called a dirty name they feel rejected, hurt, and disliked. If they go silent they might be thinking about what they might have done wrong to deserve being called that. But all in all no one should be insulted. Everyone has feelings and deserves to have their feelings considered. Like we all learned in kindergarden, name-calling is a big no-no. So let's all play nice.

No, you have not met me. I do not necessarily find the term "cunt" harsh or insulting. Sometimes it can be a term of endearment & most times it's just hawt!!

Termyn8or -> RE: Dirty words ? (8/12/2011 9:29:53 PM)

Linny, it''s nothing bad really.

T^T

HannahLynHeather -> RE: Dirty words ? (8/12/2011 9:47:21 PM)

i don't give a fuck why people dislike them, i don't give a fuck if people dislike them. i don't dislike them. so somebody doesn't like hearing them? too fucking bad, that's their problem not mine. how you react to shit is your problem, not that of the rest of the world. don't go demanding the rest of the world play nice with you, you don't have that right. you're feelings don't fucking matter, they are your responsibility, not mine. you deal with them, don't require me to babysit your psyche because it's weak. toughen up.

Then you haven't met many 'men'.

LillyBoPeep -> RE: Dirty words ? (8/12/2011 9:55:55 PM)

i actually prefer having my "chick bits" called a "cunt" rather than a "pussy." i've never been all that fond of pussy, and while i used to have a knee-jerk reaction to cunt, i've found i actually like it.
ANYTHING said with malice can make a person feel bad, whether that's "cunt" or "lampshade."

"you fucking lampshade, what the hell is your problem?!"

i don't really mind most cuss words anymore; i credit the late Dude for that.
it's all in the intent. intent creates reality, etc etc.

littlewonder -> RE: Dirty words ? (8/12/2011 10:06:27 PM)

I just find cursewords to simply be crass, cheap and tacky. Sure they can be useful at times when one is extremely angry but when people need to use them between every other word it just reminds me of the hicks and hillbillies where I grew up whose favorite pasttime is shooting deer from the back of a pickup truck and watching Nascar and Heehaw.

Don't include me in that "all."  It actually made me laugh.

I think calling people "cunt" is overused.  The word doesn't bother me because I got bored with it.

And I pretty much agree with littlewonder about constant swearing.  I actually find it boring after awhile, and to me it just makes the person seem lacking in finesse or creativity.  But then hey, maybe they don't want finesse or creativity.

Agreed. I've noticed a few people whose every other word are practically curses.

People don't even need to know creative words to use them. Some internet browsers come with a thesaurus.
