My god. Does Hollywood ever have an original thought?

Iamsemisweet -> RE: they are remaking dirty dancing (8/10/2011 8:40:49 PM)

FR

How in the fuck would you remake Dirty Dancing ?

It would have to appeal to people who.......... W H A T ?

Excuse me for not signing in this thread. I mean they would be better off remaking Ghost, or you know what ? Roadhouse !. All the Women were in love with Swayze, but in roadhouse, my Mother really likes that other guy, Sam Elliot ? But they could remake roadhouse. And said by people who supplied Bob Dylan, the Jacobs and some other peepey peeps, this shit is like popcorn. You know it PROBABLY isn't good for you but...............

I gotta go see them people sometime. Sorri. That was NOT an error in spelling. Maybe in judgement but you have to find out sometime. I'll be OK.

Arpig -> RE: they are remaking dirty dancing (8/10/2011 9:20:43 PM)

Didn't they already do a remake?

Termyn8or -> RE: they are remaking dirty dancing (8/10/2011 10:06:31 PM)

Hey yeah, this could be three and we don't even know it.

And realize that it would not be in their best interest to tell us that............

Yeah, but this time they're going to hump each other really REALLY hard [8|]

Being alive notwithstanding, I'd take Sam Elliott over Patrick Swayze any day, mmm hmmmm.

Sort of.

Your thinking about Dirty Dancing Havana Nights.  There they took the original idea and gave it a Latin theme with different characters.

This is a straight up remake of the original.

paulmcuk -> RE: they are remaking dirty dancing (8/11/2011 9:46:37 AM)

Of course. Dancing, on TV and film, is very in right now so the studios trawl their back catalogues for ways to cash in. That's why they remade Fame, and why they're also remaking Footloose. They're probably lining up Flashdance and Saturday Night Fever too.

Geez, next they'll be remaking War Of the Worlds and shit like that. When does Star Wars 26 come out ? Kahn meets Darth Vader and Ellie May Clampett. Spock marries Ellie May and Uncle Joe leaves Petticoat Junction to watch their kids, who have super powers unless in the presence of kryptonite, which is a new breakfast cereal.

Sound about tright ?

And Xanadu! WOOT!!!

The trend of making TV series that sucked the first time into movies is also hilarious.  Did we really need a movie of Dukes of Hazzard or The A-Team?

Is it wrong of me not to give a flying fuck about this?
I'd rather they were remaking a shit '80s Schwayze film than Get Carter or The Wicker Man, put it that way...
(The only thing I liked about the Vinnie Jones Mean Machine was it was a crap British remake of a classic American film. We should have more of that: let's see if we can get Dave Stewart to remake Taxi Driver with Winstone as DeNiro, one of Girls Aloud as Foster, Sawalha as Shepherd and Pegg as Keitel...)

pahunkboy -> RE: they are remaking dirty dancing (8/11/2011 12:10:00 PM)

You just don't know how to dance.

Moonhead -> RE: they are remaking dirty dancing (8/11/2011 12:17:48 PM)

You like the footage of Schwayze's arse wiggling in tight jeans, then? Fair enough.
(And no, I don't know how to dance: I'm a white heterosexual male from the North of England: I'm genetically incapable of dancing. I think Bez can bust a few flash moves, that's how much I can't dance...)

pahunkboy -> RE: they are remaking dirty dancing (8/11/2011 12:25:32 PM)

You miss the whole point of the movie.

Should we try to make the world a better place- vs everything is rigged.  Baby says we should try to make the world a better place...and hot ass says we should not bother.

Moonhead -> RE: they are remaking dirty dancing (8/11/2011 12:34:21 PM)

I thought the point of the movie was ogling Schwayze's behind?
(This is, to be fair, why it's seen as a chick flick...)
