My Husband and I are new to the Dom/sub life style. We have both had the strong desire to want a submissive woman in our lives.
We signed up about two weeks ago, and have found the whole experience very eye opening. A lot of the submissive women have really helped us with how the whole bdsm lifestyle varies and will give us great advise as to find who we are looking for, and to those ladies we are great-full.
We have not yet found our sub, but that is ok, when the right match comes along, we will be ready.

for the newbie subs: A couple observations we have made by talking with people and observing the various profiles, is that there is no right or wrong kind of sub. Each "sub" is a person and has individual needs that they want to see fulfilled.
Do Not Settle for something, just because you can't find what you want right away. This will only lead to feeling unfulfilled or even abused.
Never let the Dom or Doms tell you what you desire as that will only lead to problems.
If you tell a Dom you are not interested and the knowingly keep bothering you, it never hurts to use your block funtion
BE SAFE, and let this be a satisfying experience.
Message to new Doms:
Be respectful. These "subs/slaves/switches" might seek to fulfill a desire to serve, whether it be sexually, life, or both, but they do not deserve to be treated like they are subhuman (unless that is there desire, lol).
If you are told that they are not interested, then respect that.
If you are just looking for a power trip, fine, but only seek out the subs that want that.
as with the subs, don't just settle for a sub, find someone who wants what you want.
In most cases, realize that you must earn the right and trust for a submissive to desire to serve you, they wont just feel the loyalty to you right away.
It takes a lot of work and responsibility to be a Dom, if you don't think you can care for your submissive/slave, and work to satisfy there desires, then you need to find a night time sub.
Be sure to define what your wants are, and don't just sit there and tell a sub what you think they want to here.
Obviously this isn't perfect, and everything won't apply to everyone, but I just thought I would post my observations.
