Same-sex marriage In a 2007 interview with John Stossel, Paul stated that he supported the right of gay couples to marry, so long as they didn't "impose" their relationship on anyone else, on the grounds of supporting voluntary associations. Paul has said that recognizing same-sex marriage at the federal level would be "an act of social engineering profoundly hostile to liberty."[190] Paul stated, "Americans understandably fear that if gay marriage is legalized in one state, all other states will be forced to accept such marriages."[191] He says that in a best case scenario, governments would enforce contracts and grant divorces but otherwise have no say in marriage.[192] Paul has also stated he doesn't want to interfere in the free association of two individuals in a social, sexual, and religious sense.[193][194] Additionally, when asked if he was supportive of gay marriage Paul responded "I am supportive of all voluntary associations and people can call it whatever they want."[193] I'm not sure what he means by "impose" but it sounds like he said OKAY.

I am under absolutely no obligation to respond to your questions if they are not on topic or are obviously atytempts to change the subject. You are still trying to pretend like I equated RP to the Texas GOP. What this discussion is about is your stated preference for RP's desire to let states decide social matters. I presented the platform of the dominant political party in Texas indicating that they would bring back sodomy laws and would decriminalize gay bashing. Texas is not acting on its own on these desires because any attempt to do so would run afoul of the federal courts. Now if you are ready to actually discuss your stated preference for letting states decide social matters I am interested in how you would defend that knowing the suffering it would cause. If you intend to continue evading and trying to change subjects or toss out red herrings I'll just keep pointing out that you have yet to substantively respond to the topic at all.

On topic: I'd obviously vote for Ron Paul because I think he'd do the most to further liberty and right a lot of wrongs that have been dealt to the constitution and it's people by default of those actions. People may or not agree with his stances but he has held firm in his beliefs of the role that government should play in our lives based on his knowledge of the Constitution. If more held the Constitution to the standard it should be held, we'd probably not have the issues we do now. People have lost their sense of liberty and seemingly their desire for it.

[:D] Serious though.. why don't you research and follow the links. What looks like a vote against gay marriages is a vote against government sticking it's nose in those issues. He knows that the Feds have absolutely NO rights to act the way they do. They are strictly held to certain avenues by the Constitution.
