quote:
My health should ALWAYS be a priority for me. It is my RESPONSIBILITY not only to myself but to those I have agreed to be responsible TO and FOR. I believe that 100%, regardless of what anyone that may be fat and trying to justify their own shit, has to say about it to make themselves feel better about said shit. You hit it on the head....YOUR health, not mine, not the guy next door, nor the person who constantly eats at McDonalds...but yours. I think too many grow concerned about the appearance of others. If I am carrying 20 extra pounds, that is between me and my ass. If you don't like the roundness of my ass, don't look. J-Lo works out every day and it hasn't made a dent in her behind, and yet she was voted sexiest woman this year. We are a visual society and if someone doesn't fall into our scheme of vision, then it must not be correct. I'm not making excuses, merely pointing out that not everyone uses the same stick for measurement and to lump entire groups into one pile or the other, reminds me of the Dr Seuss story, Sneetches. The OP made it clear that overweight people offended her, she felt they were unable to master themselves, let alone another. If she had stated that there could be exception to this, or that some may have limited wind, or ability due to their size, I wouldn't be posting here. The wording made it clear, to her it was offensive, period. I would have reacted if she said blonde women are stupid, or brunettes have bad acne. It was a generalized comment based on appearance.
