ugh. My husband used to snore so loud it sounded like a freight train coming through the house!

There were nights I felt like holding a pillow over his face! LOL

Lots of nights of me sleeping on the couch just to get a good night's sleep.

I had a roommate with sleep apnea. he would snore, and it would sound like a car alarm one time, a slide whistle, foghorn, and slowed down police siren.

I wanted to throw Skittles at him.

I love sleeping with a snorer. The sound is quite comforting to me. Go figure.

I cant stand listening to snoring, cant sleep.. it goes way back,... to trauma in my childhood..

LaTigresse -> RE: random shit you didn't know. (8/14/2011 8:50:24 AM)

No snorers allowed in my bed.

I used to have a black lab that began to snore as she got old. She was no longer allowed to sleep at the foot of my bed.

When I was a kid I used to talk in my sleep. Now, when I have a head cold, I have been told I moan......how annoying. Thank god for the Neti pot! No more head colds.

Generic dude will answer questions in his sleep. Fortunately for him, he is disgustingly honest while awake.

I have a dog that pees in her sleep. Apparently it is quite common in small female dogs. Who knew? She wears a doggy diaper to bed.

I hadn't slept with anyone for years when the ex-husband & I got back together. One night, he shook me awake saying, "It's ok, you're ok!!" I was like WTF?? I was ok, I was fucking asleep!!! Turns out I yell in my sleep. So now if I sleep at anyone's home I warn them. I have no memory of nightmares, I think that it's a panic thing.

littlewonder -> RE: random shit you didn't know. (8/14/2011 9:01:19 AM)

My mom and my husband used to tell me I slept with my eyes open and they thought I was dead lol.

I don't know if I do it anymore. If I do no one has told me lately.

My husband grinds his teeth in his sleep and you can hear it three rooms away. It sounds like.......this creaking kind of sound. It makes me feel like someone's nails going down a chalk board. It's just horrible. I spend a lot of nights in our spare bedroom with a fan on.

pahunkboy -> RE: random shit you didn't know. (8/14/2011 9:19:39 AM)

No more snoring.    We forbid you.

LinnaeaBorealis -> RE: random shit you didn't know. (8/14/2011 9:29:19 AM)

My mother ground her teeth like that. Once she was fitted with this tooth guard deal, she stopped.

He was fitted with a guard. When he wears it, it does reduce the sound, but I'm a really light sleeper and I can still hear some of the grinding when I'm next to him. Fortunately, he really only grinds when he's stressed out, which isn't all the time.

Yeah right...you're just trying to get into Heather's bad.

ETA: I LOVE snoring, it turns me on!

soul2share -> RE: random shit you didn't know. (8/14/2011 4:13:44 PM)

Funny...I can sleep with the TV on, and I have a thunderstorm cd set on repeat in my room next to my bed, but any kind of snore, even just a little *fffuuufff* will snap me right out of sleep...and forget sleeping if he falls asleep first.  This is one reason why I have a futon in my living room instead of a couch.

I'm a talker.....my son is both a talker and walker.  My sister, who would kill me if she knew I'm telling this story, walked for most of her teenage years.  We had bunk beds, and she'd get up, come down between the wall and the bed and crawl across me to get down.  One morning, my dad told my mother that she needed to tell Sis to start wearing pj's to bed...she slept nekkid.  Mom asked why, and he related the following tale.....3am, and he is wakened by the sound of someone in the back yard yelling at our Saints.  He gets up, goes outside, and there stands my naked sister, yelling something at the dogs, they are looking out of their pens like "WTF??? We're sleeping here!"  He gets a robe, and sort of herds her back into the house, and back up to bed.  Another time, she went downstairs, put an entire pound of bologna on a sandwich and ate it.  She absolutely HATES bologna! Pissed my mom off cuz she'd just gone grocery shopping, and that was a week's supply!

When I've been training for a new job w/a police department, I've been known to wake myslef up dispatching.  Miming typing and talking, and thrashing my foot around trying to locate a foot pedal.

soul2share -> RE: random shit you didn't know. (8/14/2011 4:15:11 PM)

Also, did you know that your foot is as long as the distance between your elbow and your wrist?  I'd advise sitting down to prove this.......[8|]

playfulotter -> RE: random shit you didn't know. (8/14/2011 4:29:20 PM)

I have a hard time sleeping with someone who snores......my last two relationships snored..the last one the worst..half the nights I spent with him at his place I had to sleep half the night on the couch...arghhhh! Although like someone else said I can sleep with the TV on all night.
