hmmm.. when Bush took office, U6 was 7.3.. when he left 15.0

Obama took office, its 15.0 currently 16.1

The economy was going to get worse regardless of who was in office.

Power is power and people drunk with power are not that clever to organize a political move like that since the American public has a memory span like a gnat. To think that a bunch of republicans got together and said "ok....we will allow this guy to get elected with a super majority secure in the knowledge that he is going to nationalize the student loan industry, violate the Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution, nationalize GM after overturning 200 years of bankruptcy law and do it all in favor of the United Auto Worker's Union, run up the largest federal budgets in U.S. history by a HUGE percentage, get us involved in a third theater of war and then.............................well........................then we will just take power again. Fuck....if you believe that then 9/11 being totally an inside U.S. operation is MUCH easier to swallow as well as Usuma eating empanadas in South America.....with Jack Ruby.....and his gay lover, Elvis.

Kaliko please don't take this personal,I don't know a thing about you...so I am not casting any aspersions upon you....but I get real fucking doubtful when I hear some white person claim they are shocked when Obama's not- whiteness( really,not white....lol,I don't think that is going to catch on) is mentioned.Or that they tend to forget his racial heritage.Come on he is the first Black President of the U S of America....his Presidency has been lauded as transformational,based in large part due to the barrier he broke,or savaged as ineffective and a disaster for the nation.
And it sort of gets away from you that he is black ?

Hiya mike.

I think the issue here is that some people (OK, actually just one, in this thread) would claim that any bad words at all towards the president du jure would constitute 'racism,' in contrivance and contravention to all prior treatments of any president.

One could actually argue real issues and salient points or they could just forgo any thought process at all such as with housesub4you calling race card to save what is obviously troublesome thought process for him.

Otherwise, I am a racist, mnottertail is a racist, Marini is a racist, etc.

True Edwynn,though on the other hand there are cases where the words do in fact indicate very real,and very ugly racism.Just because it is political sport to attack any sitting President does not rule out the possibility that some of it is just good old fashioned racist hate.
Now given that,and given that every other occupant of that office has been a white male....wouldn't you also admit to finding it curious that someone can lay claim to having forgotten that President Obama is black?
Doesn't that stretch incredulity to the breaking point?

Nobody was forgetting he is black, per se, but forgetting his race and getting down to business is a good thing.

From what I can see, the President himself has shoved that issue aside as abruptly and immediately as possible anytime it might have surfaced, and good on him for that.

As an attempt at strawmanning, that's even worse than your usual standard.
But sure, go ahead and demonstrate that Sorebutt and Barbie was a package the GOP had come up with to win votes rather than look worse than the competition even if the Dems had put up Chelsea Clinton and the lobotomised Kennedy for their ticket, and that they gave a flying fuck what was going on in the white house during the Chimp's second term, never mind his current third term.
