This sudden concern for black neighborhoods,......... is touching....[8|]
Just before the tour,there were all those cons talking almost daily about the plight of black folks.......[8|]
And I`m sure in the days months and years ahead,we`re going to be hearing lots of positive and uplifting comments about the black community....from cons.....I mean,that`s what their known for.........[8|]
And why do the race concious cons think that the president MUST visit black neighborhoods?
Is it because president Obama is half black?
So that, makes him obligated to go there?
That`s the angle here?
When President Obama finished law school, he made a selfless decission to put off a law practice for a few years to work in and give back to his community and cons have had nothing but contept for President Obama, for this.Belittling his community service and mocking him for it,like it was nothing.
He could have gone off and started making big bucks practicing law but chose instead to do something truly giving and positive.
I doubt his critics have any clue what making sacrifices like that is about,much less the courage make sacrifices themselves.
Years ago I saw Sidney Poitier playing a well to do black man doing business at some sort of golf resort or club, with some white men,early 60s(when "guess who`s coming to dinner" still had novilty).
The men were standing together talking,laughing and having drinks. At one point Poitier steps away for a moment and just then a white man walks up and says,"get me a gin and tonic,I`ll be over there" as he point to one side of the large area and walks off.There were no white waiters,only black men doing the waiting at the club.
Poitier says ok and goes off for the drink.When he comes back,to insult the ass-hat who assumed he was a waiter,he starts sipping the drink in front of him.
It wasn`t racist that the white guy assumed that Poitier was a waiter,but it was no less insulting and stupid and socially retarded.
The OP isn`t racist either but it is insulting,stupid and socially retarded.
