FR

These responses are actually good enough that mine is not necessary, but since I am here :

Man's inhumanity to Man.

Even better that it is nothing new. Oh sure we are getting better at it, but it has been around since dirt, and what doesn't help much is knowing it. And knowing that this knowledge is what made the adoption of religion possible, and that even that has been bastardised to incoherence.

Knowing that religion does not need demons or saints, knowing how the bullshit came about. Knowing how it really is, while people say you are a fool or don't really know, because supposedly they do when it is clear they are misguided and part of the real problem, unwittingly, sometimes.

I stop now..

Not that i would know from experience, but losing a child.

The fact that you could go down to the pound and save all but 1 puppy, and end up feeling like you've failed. :( Something my psychology professor mentioned today.

It has to do with your mentality hange......, it is not your rsponsibility. There are so many pounds out there and so many pound puppies, you can't get to them all. That is what each person has to realize, that we can't do everything. And hope that it does not discourage us from doing anything at all.

Maybe not the saddest thing in the world, but one that is personal to me is when a parent dies and it results in an irreparable rift in the family.

Igor, Parents must die. The alternative is to have them watch their offspring die. You only get two choices. If the family splits up afterward, well then I don't know what to say.

Helping someone you love and who raised you so lovingly die.

This too. Shorey and I have both experienced this loss separately.

Many of us here have.

Not being able to help them would be more sad.

On a personal level,

the sight of my mother crying over the tiny little coffin  that held my baby brother.

The sound of my mother's voice when she told me that dad had cancer.

That we licens drivers but not parents.

That we offer aid to the poor, but restrict what they can do with it.

That we allow kids to go to war and die, but not purchase beer.

That we have the power, privelage, and right to vote, but so many choose not to.

That People want to memoralize those lost in tragedy with monuments and pictures on the walls, instead of talking about the ones they lost and how they lived.

That we require driver's to be insured but not people.

That gay marriage has not been added to the bill of rights.

That the one's we love die much to young, and the ones we cannot stand seem to live forever.
