New rule - presidents get to pick and choose which laws to enforce and which hey can ignore in order to pander to special interest lobbyists:

It's all about the vote, you know. Gotta counter those incredibly unpredictable independent voters with more in the pocket votes.

Perhaps you missed Ws signing statements, oh yeah it was on the news, never mind you missed it for sure, you are eminently unknowledgable on affairs in this country..... Not a new deal at all.

Jeez, you mean these people been here for years and years? So W must have had the same or worse policy but a little less transparent?

Only possible conclusion.

Sanity -> RE: Amnesty By Fiat (8/19/2011 6:21:07 AM)

Exactly - he is pandering. Bowing to the special interests.

Sorta like the special interests are running the republicans (as I pointed out) who are sucking each other off in the cloakroom, which I suppose is a bow of sorts.

slvemike4u -> RE: Amnesty By Fiat (8/19/2011 6:26:53 AM)

If only this President would stop making decisions......

and as we all know in the math of today's politics we're ok because our wrong has been cancelled out by the other side.

pahunkboy -> RE: Amnesty By Fiat (8/19/2011 6:43:21 AM)

LOL.   So you fall for Perry.

TOO FUNNY!

mnottertail -> RE: Amnesty By Fiat (8/19/2011 6:49:42 AM)

What wrong would that be? tHE SITUATION IN THIS FUCKING COUNTRY since before the civil war has been to let these people in to provide cheap labor to agrarian corporations.

Texas refused to enforce these laws, they said it would wreck their economy.
California? Arizona? (WTF up there)?

Who is asswiping and pandering to this?

Look simple fucking deal. We know where exactly the fuck illegal aliens are. Raid the corporations, shut them down, fine the fucking shit out of them throw them in jail, this 'problem' will be solved; what is it, friday? BY THE END OF THE WEEK.

Whine cry wring your fuckin hands and gnash your fuckin teeth, what can little old me do?

Quit buying lettuce from Watsonville California.

Then figure out who the fuck you are going to get to work in the Turkey processing plants in Pelican Rapids Minnesota.

You got a nice hat, keep the sun off you a little, tell me, is it true that a year from now you are going to be chopping lettuce heads?

So, create a system that works. One that provides quick, easy background checks and work visas. Secure the border, make the process actually work, create a work permit or visa that allows entry, punish those who don't comply with deportation. Allow anyone currently in the country illegally to apply for one without having to leave the country. Prosecute or deport those who don't.

Track and tax those who do.

Do something besides sit on your stupid fucking ass and crying every 10 years there's nothing you can do but create a situation demanding amnesty because you won't be able to eat lettuce.

Fixing the problem isn't difficult.

mnottertail -> RE: Amnesty By Fiat (8/19/2011 7:12:52 AM)

Raid the corporations, fine the shit out of them, fuck a create a system that works, we dont need more systems and laws and fucking political theater.

Quit running around pretending that something wants to be done about this, or needs to be done and then do a little dog and pony dance ...Headlines read "13 Illegal aliens netted in raid" like something is being done...

Go to the fuckin Del Monte and other corporations processing plants and round up every swinging dick in that building and jail the fuckers. When the lawyers come you will know who to charge, fine and incarcerate. it will be over saturday if you start today.

The fuck you don't need a system. Not having one, and not enforcing what you do have is why we are where we are.

I worked in Canada for 5 years. Every year I had to go by immigration and renew my work permit, which meant paying $75 Canadian, explaining why I needed to be able to do the work, and providing identification. It wasn't difficult.

That's opposed to slipping across the border, doing the work anyway, and trying not to get caught?

Secure the border. Create a trackable work visa or permit that expires yearly or bi-yearly, require companies who hire to register them via the document number on the visa, allow those currently in country to register without fear of deportation, deport those who do not comply, fine businesses a substantial amount for non-compliance.

Levy taxes. That takes the social issues into account for those who use that as an argument. Put the tax money into accounts for health care for them. Provide a path to citizenship via the work permits for long term permit users.

We have that. We dont enforce it agressively. You think different words saying the same thing are gonna fucking be the answer?

Next.

I think that you didn't read as in

"The fuck you don't need a system. Not having one, and not enforcing what you do have is why we are where we are. "

It's all bullshit unless we're willing to enforce the law. First law is illegal is illegal. It's not undocumented, it's fucking illegal. Why? Because the presence in country is not by legal means.

mnottertail -> RE: Amnesty By Fiat (8/19/2011 7:46:07 AM)

Yeah, and I said we have a system. I am for agressive enforcement along the lines I have described, large raids on corporations, quit messing around with the onesies twosies individuals, and strict sentencing for corporate scofflaws.

we are together on the enforcement for sure.

Ahhh but Ron, when the Obama administration started cracking down on the I-9 audits  I had conservative friends screaming this was an attack on business and communist behavior.

Kind of sucks that everyone will have to obey the law rather than just the poor folks trying to find a job, doesn't it?

mnottertail -> RE: Amnesty By Fiat (8/19/2011 8:16:37 AM)

Well we have real americans that want to work those jobs, I can see wilbur out there fondling tomatoes, sanity and his boyfriend pudpounding on the raspberry crew, and so on.......its like so visionary

Why would the republicans not take advantage of this.........essentially a..... jobs bill?
I thought they were the law and order guys.

Borrow, spend, ship jobs overseas, and actively support illegal aliens, thats OUR boyz, the nutsuckers!!!!!!

flcouple2009 -> RE: Amnesty By Fiat (8/19/2011 10:00:01 AM)

It seems all the republicans want to do is spend money.

Build a fence, more guards, more border patrol, spend spend spend

Things like the I-9 audits are certainly more cost effective.  Crack down on the people who hire them.  Increase the fines and make repeat offenses criminal with jail time.  When there are no jobs they will go home.

mnottertail -> RE: Amnesty By Fiat (8/19/2011 10:02:28 AM)

Not all in all bad, a jobs bill of sorts, not steady employment mind you, but typical military bent....... of course they will outsource to the mexicans to build it, so tht sucks for us here who are Americans.........
