You can eliminate your accounts all you want. If the attorney for the other side finds out that you had a facebook account and eliminated it, then your case could get thrown out of court. Real smart being able to wipe your hard drive, not so smart in terms of a good result. All it takes is one of your facebook friends casually mentioning you had an account at one time, and you are screwed. Also, some people may feel queasy about lying under oath. I would never, ever go to jail for contempt, regardless of the principal supposedly involved. They don't have to charge you, and they can keep you there until the judge isn't pissed off anymore or you purge the contempt. No thanks. What I think I would do in this situation is take the case up on appeal, and keep appealing for as long as it takes. I would at least want the court with the highest authority possible to tell me I have to turn over my passwards, not some dumb ass local trial judge.
