Sanity -> Illinois Loses Most Jobs in the Nation (8/24/2011 3:56:02 AM)

Only seems fair, I would suppose:

quote:

In a trend that continues to worsen, more Illinoisans found themselves unemployed in the month of July.

Illinois lost more jobs during the month of July than any other state in the nation, according to the most recent Bureau of Labor Statistics report. After losing 7,200 jobs in June, Illinois lost an additional 24,900 non-farm payroll jobs in July. The report also said Illinois’s unemployment rate climbed to 9.5 percent. This marks the third consecutive month of increases in the unemployment rate.

Illinois started to create jobs as the national economy began to recover. But just when Illinois’s economy seemed to be turning around, lawmakers passed record tax increases in January of this year. Since then, Illinois’s employment numbers have done nothing but decline

Wisconsin is open for business. Some of those companies have moved north to a more business friendly Wisconsin thanks to Scott Walker..

Actually- this is a fair slam.

Once they raised the tax- my brother who had long complained about IL- is planning to leave in a few months.

He is a go getter.  Works alot- and does well....   it sounds like his pick is FL.    He almost went to Nevada 2 years ago- and I talked him out of it.     I would NOT talk him out of the move to FL- as I dont think it would be a mistake for him.

I don't know why it seems fair to you, especially since you are posting a quote from an unknown source, because it's not in the link you provided.

In the Regime's Eyes, jobs are antiquated (unless your labor is used to agitate and organize for groups like ACORN). What matters are the number of people on food stamps and welfare (higher number = GOOD!). The more dependent people are on Dear Leader, the better! Then all are equal and all are happy! And we get free trips to visit with Father Castro and that nut job in Venezuela. Yay!!!

Can we last until November 2012?

In reality-ville, you squeeze those that are innovative and do the work, and they will go elsewhere. It's human nature. Sorry, o'dingdong... real life doesn't work like a term paper.

Without an adult holding your hand youre completely lost and suffer from panic attacks

And if ever a link doesnt work as its intended its way above your mental ability to simply Google two key words such as "Illinois" and "unemployment" as well

housesub4you -> RE: Illinois Loses Most Jobs in the Nation (8/24/2011 7:26:10 AM)

Actually, the tax rate in Illinois even with the increase is less than Indiana and less than Wisconsin.  Which has been pointed out in most media outlets for the last 6 months.

I'm not saying there is not a drop in employment, however to say it is solely based on the tax increase would be misleading.

And in Wisconsin several companies have left that state in the last 8 months, including Harley Davidison because of the tax structure imposed by Walker, a high speed rail company left because Walker turned down the money for the high speed rail (well he kept the money but used it in the general fund) that firm is moving to Illinois,

What is wrong with NV? Why is FL better? just wondering what aspects..

EternalHoH -> RE: Illinois Loses Most Jobs in the Nation (8/24/2011 7:35:31 AM)

The unemployment rate in general has been rising since the beginning of the year.  The Illinois jobs reports are mirroring the nation. And unemployment rising across the nation in general has nothing to do with tax increases on any local state level.

This is a fraudulent cause-effect assertion. Someone is taking a national picture and assigning blame to a local state tax increase.

He was going to buy a 400k house in Henderson NV.  Today same house is 200k.

My brother knows FL much better then NV.   My sister, uncle, and grandparents lived there. He has been there many times- and for extended periods of time.  It is closer to IL/PA where he has family.

He loves to jetset-   he might buy a condo there-  for  40k.   Understand that he has caviar taste- and the money to half way back that up.

For a long time I thought TN would be a good pick. I still do- but he likes FL.

He just flipped a house in Chicagoland... which leaves just his McMansion to sell.    He heads to FL after he closes on his house- and goes to Barbados with his GF.  He has a job there lined up for the Winter.   (once again)

I am not sure.  I personally would not want to own a condo or 2nd house.   He does not mind commotion- so- it could work for him.

Funny thing-  he rehabs houses- and this last house- the mortgage co wants a bunch of stuff done-   which is odd- because he does top quality work.

Harley Davidson has not left the state of Wisconsin. The headquarters is still in Milwaukee.

This all started with the banking and motgage crisis during Bush's presidency.

So stop with the Dear Leader bullshit.
