OK, folks. What do you watch on TV when you noone else is around?

For Me. 1000 ways to die

Tantriqu -> RE: Guilty Pleasures (8/27/2011 9:36:16 PM)

True Blood for late-night fiction, and Lab Rats and Horrible Histories, two Brit programs ostensibly for kiddiewinkies, but I like 'em, for early-morning fact.

Iamsemisweet -> RE: Guilty Pleasures (8/28/2011 12:37:36 AM)

I am completely addicted to Mad Men.

WinsomeDefiance -> RE: Guilty Pleasures (8/28/2011 1:01:41 AM)

Trueblood, Torchwood - Miracle Day, Dr. Who

SoulAlloy -> RE: Guilty Pleasures (8/28/2011 1:22:57 AM)

Countdown, an anagram word game

Dr Who too, but that's not a guilty one :p

ResidentSadist -> RE: Guilty Pleasures (8/28/2011 1:23:48 AM)

The only thing as good as 1000 Ways To Die is Manswers and Archer

sunshinemiss -> RE: Guilty Pleasures (8/28/2011 5:41:24 AM)

My television guilty pleasures all center around Korean dramas - I watch them on www.mysoju.com and love them.  I generally watch one show at a time, and I watch from the first episode to the last.

The English shows I'm currently watching are... ummm... Oh Castle!  yeah, I like that show.  I like the on his name!  And he really is ruggedly handsome.  :)

LaTigresse -> RE: Guilty Pleasures (8/28/2011 7:16:26 AM)

Once, when I was home by myself, I watched 4-6 episodes of Mobwives all in a row. It was awful in the way that I didn't want to look away from. I knew women like that once, in my previous life. I nearly became a woman like that. I escaped and will always be thankful. It made me very sad actually.

When my daughter was younger and spent more time at our house, weekends and such, she liked to watch Ozzy Osbourne's reality show and Hugh Hefners. Sometimes I actually kinda enjoyed it, all while bitching about it.

Mostly though, when I am here alone, I am in heaven if HouseHunters International is on. I adore living vicariously through it. Picking the house I would buy and being angry with the people that have bad taste. Like the nasty old blonde Texan woman in Ecuador last night!

Anthony Bourdains "No Reservations" and ALL of the Top Chef seasons with Tom Colicchio.

Guilty not because of the show itself, but for my thoughts of the hosts. [8D]
and the many many ways in which I'd love to give them pleasure.

BOUNTYHUNTER -> RE: Guilty Pleasures (8/28/2011 7:23:01 AM)

FR...Its a tossup between true blood and whale wars..B

Certainly no reason to feel guilty!!!

I feel like Bourdain is my male twin, living my alternate life. Generic Dude says that watching and listening to him (like right this minute!!!) is like watching and listening to me, in a male body. His voice is such an echo of thoughts I think, of how I view the world, food, people, just everything......if that makes any sense at all.... Needless to say his show is one of the very few things we MUST watch.

Like Mr Bourdain, I also love being proven wrong.

zephyroftheNorth -> RE: Guilty Pleasures (8/28/2011 7:29:48 AM)

Add me to the list who say True Blood. Funny thing, I used to prefer the books to the show but got fed up with all the descriptions of Sookie brushing her hair and what she was wearing/putting on.

I watch several things I probably should feel guilty about but do not. I love "True Blood" and proudly admit it[:)]

As far as things I personally feel "shame" about watching -even occasionally- it would be some of the "reality" stuff like Bad Girls Club and Bridezillas. I really, really hope those gals are fake/scripted because it skurs me to believe that such self-absorbed, cuntish little freaks are walking free among us. Why any man would want to even date, let alone marry, one of these bitches is beyond my comprehension. Ya can't say ya didn't know what you were getting into man! Spoiled and self-absorbed doesn't even begin to describe it. It's like the shows producers sat down and said "OK, what are the worst qualities you can think of in a woman" and then they made sure to use only those in their "characters." Shameful indeed and I honestly can't make it past 15-20 minutes without wanting to scream so I just turn it or throw on the mute.

Something else I watch in shame but I have to admit I KINDA like is "The View." I love to see little Lizzie Hasselbeck try to argue with the grown-ups[;)]

I recently got a tv & we have very very basic cable only, so I have been watching Criminal Minds finally. I think that Family Guy is quality television & I watch the old episodes online.

One time I was at my sister's & I watched a Housewives of _____ marathon. That was a hoot!!! And I just couldn't turn the tv off, I had to watch it til the bitter end!

Lushy & I like to get together & watch Dancing with the Stars. I like to predict who will be off the show & who will end up the final winner. I was pretty good with the last season, except the final winner. I figured the one I liked the least would be the one to win.

myotherself -> RE: Guilty Pleasures (8/28/2011 12:03:21 PM)

during the daytime, it's Judge Judy. The woman is a seriously narrow-minded bitch. I love her!

In the evenings it's Next Top Model. I love it because the girls are so vacuous and bintish, and they turn into a snarling pack of savage bitches in the house. At the end of every week I get the schadenfreude of one of these underweight oxygen thieves being sent back to oblivion, all the while knowing that the one that wins is NOT going to be a "top model", merely "a model who was in a reality TV show".

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Guilty Pleasures (8/28/2011 12:05:43 PM)

I have no television guilt! Just point me to Archer, Futurama, Ugly Americans, and Adult Swim. Yeah, I' diggin mah 'toons.

tiggerspoohbear -> RE: Guilty Pleasures (8/28/2011 12:31:29 PM)

No guilty pleasures for me, I love to watch the different judge shows.  O, and Ma & Pa Kettle movies.  Right now they're going to Waikiki so Pa can run a large business.  [:D]
