You're the one that sits by the keyboard day and night because you're afraid of all those wolves and rattlers and bears not to mention 'Injun attacks' out doors in Idaho.

Go thru a hurricane (a real one) and we'll talk.

I'm just going by what you post and when you post it.
Youre delusional if you think I actually give a fuck about your life history as long as I dont copy it. I learn from the mistakes of others that way.

yes I did. Your point? Again I don't think there was any overhype except I find it funny that he didn't know what seafoam is.

Master's been without power at his house since last Saturday night and they told him he'll be without until probably this Saturday. Sigh. Overhype? I don't think so. There are towns in NY state and VT that were wiped out and flooding that is still happening in NJ and dams that overflowed or broken. I don't think billions of dollars of damage and lives lost is overhype.

I did. the video doesnt have a thing to do with the 45 deaths and billions of dollars of damage associated with the storm.

Have you ever been through a hurricane, Sanity? If yes, which one?

mnottertail -> RE: Perfect Storm of Hype (8/31/2011 3:33:38 PM)

well, remember the gulf oil spill was likened to a coke can on a football field for tommie, he thought that disaster was over hyped as well.

Not at all. I take what you say at face value and if you don't like it when I show you to be an idiot then you can always either be more civil, post about things that you actually know fuck all about or stop posting.
Until then, you will keep looking like an idiot Flat Earther.

He's too busy hiding from those Norhtern Pack Timberwolves to worry about a hurricane.[:D]

tazzygirl -> RE: Perfect Storm of Hype (8/31/2011 4:03:24 PM)

There are many people who have never experienced a hurricane. Some believe its one big storm with huge winds, then its over. Rain bands bring wind gusts. The eye can be very calm and last an hour or more before the storm hits once again.

Watching people walk around during a hurricane isnt unusual at all. To say that because people are out and about during such a storm is a reason to call it "hype" just shows how little some people know.

So, whats another mindless little troll swearing to live out the rest of its shallow, pathetic, meaningless life in my shadow...

tolovetolaugh -> RE: Perfect Storm of Hype (8/31/2011 4:47:12 PM)

One hyped video(though funny) does not make the whole storm a hype.

Vermont got hit hard, to the point where some people are completely stranded without food or water, and the national guard is still scrambling to get them all supplies via airlifts because so many of the bridges and and roads were wiped out.
Whole towns went from being connected to the world to being their own little islands.
That is not hype.

Considering this, the death toll could well be much higher- we just can't communicate with everyone to find out.

Yeah, Im not quite sure where the dividing line between "hype" and "appropriate level" of reporting is...how many billions of damage? how many deaths?

tazzygirl -> RE: Perfect Storm of Hype (8/31/2011 5:07:57 PM)

1 death and its not hype... how is that?

Politesub53 -> RE: Perfect Storm of Hype (8/31/2011 5:09:44 PM)

Incredible that anyone could think the warnings were over-hyped after Katrina.

Still it was only a bit of rain, not like it was WMD`s that could hit the west in 30 minutes is it. [8|]

Hillwilliam -> RE: Perfect Storm of Hype (8/31/2011 5:11:55 PM)

$7 Billion in damages and 40 people dead.

Not hype.

Calling it hype

Pure ignorance

tazzygirl -> RE: Perfect Storm of Hype (8/31/2011 5:19:43 PM)

45... and I have a feeling that number will climb.

7 Billion to date... again... another number that will climb.

Jesus, sanity, your rugged frontiersman bullshit is wearing pretty thin. You probably grew up on Long Island and live in a tract house in Boise, but you think you are John Wayne. And I don't really understand you wanna be cowboys' agendas, but it seems you have little interest in seeing this country succeed. All the mayhem, which is going to last for months as people try to get their lives together, and you seem almost gleeful. One misguided and theatrical reporter doesn't mean the whole thing didn't happen, stupid. Anybody who has lived through three days of STORM WATCH 2011!!! coverage when there is an inch of snow in Portland can tell you that the media overhypes the weather. So what, if it causes people to over prepare in the case of a real emergency, it at least does some good. Plus you know you were praying that the storm be devastating and the east coast be unprepared so you could once again, make another tiresome tirade against Obama. I am sure it would have started something like "hey liberal fucktards, look what your man/ boy Obummer has fucked up now . . ." And on and on. Why don't you quit being a fucking sociopath and be happy it wasn't worse, like a normal goddamn human being.

Just read in my local news that Irene caused 7.2 billion dollars in damage and was one of the costliest natural disasters in US history. But I am sure are right Sanity, it is all just hype.
